Your complaint is horribly flawed and ironically at that. Everquest was down constantly for days and days as well as ongoing server stability issues well into expansions. I may also be jaded because I am having a fantastic time playing ESO without any issues.

That was FIFTEEN YEARS ago. I think if we adjust for advances in gaming, tech, etc. this release is still pretty darn bad. When Everquest came out, its main influences were existing adventure games and text-based MUDS. People were using dial-up and DSL to connect.

Advances in technology also bring on new sets of problems and problems showing up in different places. It is nigh impossible to release bug-free software. Even when you think it's bug free there's likely a bug that will turn up later or just go unreported and live a happy bug life.

ESO is a whole lot more complex than what games were like 15 years ago, which increases the chances for mistakes. ESO's main influences are the previous elder scrolls games which were not MMO's.

its BAD but its not the worst. far from it. you either have a terrible memory or you are a ball faced liar.

Ok, then which one was worse? I have participated in most of the major MMO launches for the past 10 years, so please enlighten me.

take a look at my edited quote but I'll bite.

Everquest was down almost every day for up to 8 hours for not only the launch but for the first two expansions. There was that platinum dupe trick in kunark that had every sever go back three days in progression.

WoW was pretty terrible but only if you were horde. You would literally have to grind for levels because there was almost an entire zone of quests missing there are several articles on this if you just look them up. (look up something along the lines of horde didn't always have it so good i think its a massively article still I remember it very clearly) Not to mention the constant downtime and the INSANE latency. I remember several days it was almost unplayable because of the latency.

I could discuss everquest2 and vanguard with you maybe even more. Granted this is ridiculous for a modern MMO I believe in being honest. It is far FAR from the worst.

Ehh, maybe I see this one as a bit worse because I expect them to learn from the mistakes other MMO's have made in the past. I didn't actually do EQ, but to me WoW wasn't that bad. Now Vanguard, yea that one was at least as bad as this, I have to give you that one.

It's very difficult to learn from the mistakes from another mmo. The technology used may be entirely different. The architecture and design of the game are entirely different, otherwise there would be copyright issues involved. Being so different there are new types of problems to overcome. Also, another company will not likely give Zenimax the gritty details of their failures and how they overcame them.

Worst MMO launch... hardly... WoW expansion launches were worse... and then there was SWTOR's launch with their extremely laggy pvp zone.

I have been playing MMO's since 1999 with Everquest and I do not even remember them being so bad at it.

You are wrong, but it's cute that you are so doom and gloom.

To be honest, this is by far the worst game i have ever played. I played in three betas and the same problems were present in ever single beta. To me the only thing that got fixed was the UI not getting stuck when selling to stores. I have had collision problems at nearly every login, either with stairs, or a wall, or most often, big stones. Then you have to /stuck, which kills you and puts you at a wayshrine. Then you have the issue of the hugely long load time, which no other MMO I have ever played even come close to (it literally takes about 100 times longer than any other game i have on my PC and I am running an I7 (16G RAM) with a GTX880. Then there are the insane amount of bugged quests that cause you to repeat them because some part of the quest does not work correctly. This is probably the most annoying because it happens to frequently. Then you have the issue of the patches not applying properly and telling you to run the Fix through the launcher which takes about 15 minutes each time, only to find out, you just need to skip it and play the game. This game seriously sucks, and i canceled my subscription about the 4th day playing. I might not play a bethesda game ever again because of their poor support. Four trouble tickets in and 3 e-mails, and I have gotten one response asking for my system information... yeah right, like after all these complaints from players, its my system that is the problem.

Shove it up your ... Bethesda

    Peace
