100% agree with the OP; communication is what can salvage your reputation, Zeni--- continued silence will continue its work to destroy you.

For what it's worth, we are working on adding that feature for our forums in the near future.

    Gina-- for what it's worth:
Coming into the lion's den with this was pretty brave of you. I, for one, thank you for that. Hindsight being what it is, yes, this would have been a nice thing to have at launch, but it'll still be a nice thing to have when you do roll it out.

In the beginning, any sign of that green headline was an almost-instantaneous tension-reliever and was buried in "Agree"s and "Awesome"s, but as time goes on, these infrequent cameos are doing less and less to appease.

As the OP said, we need actual updates and real-time information on what's happening. Or, barring that, super-frequent and at least somewhat in-depth updates.

We just want some sort of indication that ZOS isn't what it appears to be: a group of suits rolling in cash laughing at their sucker customers.

    Watch this and take notes:

Honestly, if you guys were to show the same level of remorse/caring that Naoki Yoshida did here after botching FFXIV's first launch, you'd have thousands of fans chomping at the bit to be as helpful and supportive as possible.

As it stands, you have a mob.
And patience is wearing thin in the mob.

I've grown so used to the silence now that I didn't even see the green "blurb" in the thread till someone quoted it. Could ZOS's lack of caring be causing me to go color blind? 0-0

I notice that there appears to be have been some EU megaserver downtime today that appears from the server status forum to have been announced 2 hours earlier, to be firmly off peak, to state what issue it is to try to fix, and it came back up on time, less than an hour later.

If so that's great, and the way it should be !

Yeah, but downtime isnt our issue, that is a sub sub sub issue...

Especially since they have already announced standard maintenance periods.

What about the other points raised by the OP? The ones asking for some actual information about what's happening, a list of known issues (including progress on resolving each known issue), some real responses to players complaints and concerns. If players are feeling ignored now then ZOS are already on a downwards slope before the game's even been live for a week!

    I second the OP!

But did you see the "DEVELOPER TRACKER" link on the right side?
    It sometimes helps, when researching...
Thats not, what you and I want, but did get me some information though.
Are you still old school or yet unprogressive?

Meh, I didn't even saw it. That clearly illustrates the problem though.

Moroever, "Developers's tracker" is just a bad title, in my opinion. I thought it was some sort of journal indicating future developments/extensions etc. In fact it's more of a "Community manager tracker". But It's there, and it's good.

    Thanks for pointing that out.

Actually, it's worth a lot. Communication is a 2 way street. The players here are passionate and care about the game and it's direction and are making a massive contribution. Just saying ZOS need to do more.

  • Rhian-Skybladeb16_ESO
Thats basically what i would say if i omit all rude and offensive things i want to say to dev.

Well, the devs are the ones we shouldn't rant at. They are not the ones making politics about communication here. They just get told what to do/fix.

But aside from that, I can only agree. A bit more information and rumor-control would be good.

@ZOS_GinaBruno A good start would be creating an Known Bug Discussion Thread so we can see that you know what we know. Without this the Forum will be devoid of any meaningful discussions as they are filled with flamming regarding the Bugs.

It is refreshing to know that bits of progress are being made in the background, thank you for sharing this with us.

It is saddening that the officials do not know that this "feature" is already present.
If you check your forum you might notice some of the threads have a green color bar left of the Thread Title usually those started by officials.
They just have to flag it... :/

I would laugh if all this wasnt to cry for....

    I agree with @Hilanna‌
We need to know where things are going.. what I mean by that is simple easy less stressful way from Zeni. They Community management suck.. I am sorry to say this but I was talking with my friend yesterday about it...

What happened f.e. yesterday could have been more smoother and less flames and rage in forums and everywhere else if there would have been working community management and information would have came out when it is found.

I don't mean that there should be someone telling us every hour "Were working on it." I mean that there should be "fast response CM" who will try at least to keep community informed what is the situation at the moment.

Also who ever failed huge time yesterday in the company.. I feel sorry for you but that is all. If it would be up to me you would be fired so fast that your feet would not touch the floor.

That said.. Zeni can save a loads of butt hurt through social media by focusing in communication towards their community and players.

Actually, I think that's only for announcements or threads started by officials. If the thread is started by a non-official, and an official makes a response in it, no indication is made in the thread title (but as pointed by @McUsher the "Developer's tracker" in the menu top-right shows all official responses).

I'm not fluent enough to translate everything, but google traduction is your friend, or maybe @ZOS_GinaBruno can take care of getting the message in your language ?

As others have stated, communication, or lack there of will kill you, or make the community love you more.

Find 2 people who are good with PR, their only job should be to run through the forums, and then ask the guys in the back room making the fixes questions, and then responding to posts with as accurate info as they can. This will let your developers keep busy, and at the same time allow you to have a presence on the boards fanning flames, and putting down rebellions. Just remember SoE has the Soon response trademarked. =)

This should have been done before launch, as should that dev tracker, and a full suite of forum tools for response, and monitoring of threads.

Before you even started opening up Alpha, you should have had this stuff already lined up, and ready to go if nothing more than to get the PR people practice in dealing with the player base.

So far liking the game, but the relations to the player base is lacking.
