I know, a release can be more or less buggy.

I don't care. I trust you will fix this sooner or later.

But please :

WE WANT TO KNOW WHAT'S GOING ON.

Please make more announcements. Not just in login screen, but also in launcher, forum, official website homepage.

Please make them more visible and meaningful. Add some icons to topics where official post have been made in the forum.

Please acknowledge our complaints. Just a small message saying "We have read your message about <problem name>. We are working on it". I've seen it, but not enough times...

Thats basically what i would say if i omit all rude and offensive things i want to say to dev.

There should be a known issues section within the forum and a link to it in the launcher to keep us all up to date as regards whats going on. Currently there is a worrying lack of information for us paying subs, really it doesn't take much to keep your player base up-to-date!

Key word is meaningful, I think. Real, human, that sort of thing. But yes, just communication of information.
If at first you don't succeed, keep trying. And again. Eat a cookie, read a wiki, I dunno, just try to relax, the frustration will only give you a headache.

For what it's worth, we are working on adding that feature for our forums in the near future.

It is refreshing to know that bits of progress are being made in the background, thank you for sharing this with us.

@ZOS_GinaBruno if it's at all possible could the Dev tracker be made as a list rather than the large boxes, it makes it hard to read the developer posts in an order that makes sense sometimes.

Wow, they had time to address that, but not the hordes of angry people upset over the sneaky paywall regarding the 30 free days. Stay classy, Zenimax.

You should have done that before even releasing game. First 30 "free" days will pass in fixing things and most of us will not be able to use those "free" days because constant bugs, server lags, unannounced maintenances (announced 15 before shutdown) and lots of other problems.

Sometimes I think we are beta testers who are paying Zenimax to help them fix numerous flaws of their unfinished product.

Very greedy, if You continue to treat and do bussnies like this, ESO will very soon go to f2p model.

This game should be b2p but I say again, Zenimax = very greedy :'(

Would you like me to remind you where the EU megaserver is located?
Hint: It's not in the EU.

The social media accounts don't even mention that there are issues. I get they don't want press writing about issues, but come on.

That's why I've decided I am going to wait several more weeks. Maybe they'll have their crap together a bit more in a month or six weeks.

Play skyrim in meantime, oh dark souls 2 is coming out soon but really if they dont fix these iritating bugs and they dont start listen to players about issues, ESO will rose up on my list of worst games that I ever bought and its all because of that small bugs that ruin gameplay and immersion into the game.

All i'm wondering is if we'll actually be told when its fixed or we'll just have to keep trying till we're finally able to play without missing both guilds and friend list (and something about bank slots and items) or unknown errors. I usually prefer checking such things on twitter but i feel the ESO team only uses it for server up, server down and selling t-shirts. nothing about "there's currently this problem but we are looking into it." i mean this forum can't be all that great for the devs either since everything is together its kind of hard for them to see what problems are on the EU megaserver and which are on the US Megaserver. while they might be able to deduce that complaints in frence and german are from EU server. all the EU english are at the same place as all the US english.

I think i side-tracked a bit there. But anyways. a bit of infomation here and there so people know whats going on would be nice. I personally think i wouldn't mind that fixing the issues might take a little longer due to having to give a status report to the crowd.

for all we know all you Devs could be down at the local pizza hut instead of fixing the problems we're encountering

I can remeber release of some mmo games technicaly more buggy then ESO is now but those devs and publishers were trying so hard to comunicate about every little change and they were still beaten by players for bugs. Here we have quite well polished product but zenimax suits are hammering everything down to pieces.

the level of communication is appalling, other games i follow have 15-30 dev posts a day, long posts explaining issues in depth and planes to address player concerns.... from ZOS we get vague occasional "we know you're there, and kind of acknowledge you" posts... but no real information... will they consider some issues? currently my GF is waiting on an answer as to if they will change their "free" 30 days policy... and if not, shes not playing on the principle of them pulling this stunt. Do we have an official answer? No just regurgitation of the sub method that makes up the reason she's not going to play... not even validation that the issue exists...

I'm just getting up. Thanks a lot for the response. I'm glad to know that improvements are being made.

I'm sorry if you think oherwise, but communication with subscribers is as much as important than that. Okay, I know, certain things are really crappy (I agree with you, sneaky paywall is very bad), and it's far from ideal, but seriously, do you think really they are just sitting there, doing nothing ? and even if they did, don't you want to quickly be informed of that (eventually non-)progress instead of browsing threads for so long to find and actual answer? Communication with subs SHOULD BE a priority, and thus SHOULD BE IMPROVED as quickly as buggy game mechanics, server stability or subscription methods.

I'm in complete agreement with the original post. My time in management positions has taught me a very basic lesson that any authority figure should understand. When you isolate yourself from the people who depend on you for a service, and who you in turn depend on for their business, you breed an Us vs Them mentality that is apparent from both sides. The tension and anger that is spewing out all over these forums has the same recurring theme. Zenimax, you're becoming a shapeless, faceless entity upon which to place blame, and your absolute lack of communication is preventing even your most vehement supporters (like myself) from empathizing with you.

You CAN build a positive relationship with your customers. I acknowledge that everyone involved with technical, production and support teams at Zenimax is probably being run ragged, and has been so for the last several months. Nevertheless, I think I speak for most of the players on these forums when I tell you we would gladly wait an extra ten minutes for a fix, if that ten minutes of someone's time was spent acknowledging the issue in question and reassuring us that it's being handled.

This policy of silence is making your company appear not only impotent to support its product, but cowardly. Both could be rectified by acknowledging us on your own forums. If for some reason your customer support team is unable or unwilling to accept the flack and flame that is to be expected of a gaming forum, I'm unemployed right now following and international move and impending career change into, go figure, game design and project management. Your support team can email me and I'll convey the information to these forums on your behalf.

However you do it, Zenimax, you have to change the mentality of these forums from that of a complaint box to a place of mutual enthusiasm and productive feedback for a game that has incredible potential.

    Send your ambassadors.

    Edit: Typo.

Exactly I agree with OP. Problems may happen, lag, bugs, server crashes etc. We may even get angry but if we like this game, we will wait patiently, we have to.

But most important thing is letting the community know about whats going on.

    - Share the problems you already know so we don't open them around. (Known Issues List is a must have)
    - Tell the exact server maintenance times and approx opening times. (Currently you are doing it.)
    - Be more talkative, more open, more information sharing. We feel some kind of relief when we see green user names. Make us feel that we are listened.
    - Moderate forums to more useful and UX based design. Get rid of confusing language categories and keep updated "Official News" section. Thats a category which created by you to give information.
    - Return to your CS tickets with real answers, not automated replies or copy-pasted answers. Its ok for such general questions and problems but most of the time you do it with also specific problems.
