Transitioning from Early Access to Subscription

Myrren
Myrren
Currently I am unable to set up subscription information on my account page. Everything I see about how to get to the subscriptions page says that I should just log into my account and follow the prompts; well, there are no prompts.

I have checked and re-checked every clickable section I have access to in my account page and they generate no prompts for me to follow to enter subscription information. I've already found the 'guide' on setting up a subscription that takes people through the "Redeem a code" section and into the store to buy a redeemable code, but I already purchased an 80-dollar game and don't have the inclination to do it again. I don't know why the promotional code that allowed me early access won't enable me to enter my payment information on, but I see clearly stated that early access codes will not register as valid for the purposes of setting up subscription information.

I purchased a digital copy of the game through Amazon - and the "promotional code" that came with it was used to activate the patched beta client I had to enable me play during the early access.

So what am I supposed to do? I really want an official answer to this because from what information there is currently, it sounds like I have to buy another copy of the game to be able to set up payment information - and I think anyone would agree that is clearly unreasonable.

To more clearly state the inequalities here, a standard edition game costs $55.00. A 30-day subscription (paid 30 days at a time) costs $15.00. Well, a "game code" comes with 30 days paid time, and if the stars align and I get credit for the other edition of the game I bought should I redeem said game code, I should have 60 days of play time. That 60 days that I would be getting is worth (at most) $30.00 according to Zenimax's subscription plan, and 30 of those days are supposed to be free because they should have come with the digital Imperial game I bought at the start.

There are, then, two ways to look at this. 1) I am paying for the 30 free days I was supposed to get in buying another game copy, so where is the other $25.00 of the $55.00 game I have to buy again going? 2) I am getting the 30 days I was promised for my early access, so where is the other $40.00 of the game I have to buy going?

Help?

You DO NOT pay for the next month. Zenimax is simply putting an Authorization Charge on your account. This is not a payment. The money is not actually taken by Zenimax. The charge will be reversed within 1-3 days depending on your bank and the method of payment. You may contact your bank to see if they would release the charge immediately if you must.

Can't access my free 30 days until a subscription is set up.
No option for me to set up my subscription.

Waiting for hours on Customer Support to find a way to process my payment. I don't even have a complaint about having to pay to access my free time anymore, I just want to actually be able to access it at all, and am instead stuck waiting with no sign of alleviation.

Well, if I could get to that point I would be happy, and I pretty well understand placing holds on an account for certain dollar amounts - not a new practice at all.

I can't get to the point where I enter my payment information unless I register with a new game code; that is the guidance that has been put out by the official help posts on the forum/ in support. Even if I had to pay for the 30 days following my free 30 days today, I wouldn't mind so much. Paying for another full copy of a game I've already paid for to get a game activation code, however, I have a problem with.

This sounds very frustrating. I THINK the only thing you can do is open a support ticket; have you done that yet?

If it seems like the ticket is taking too long, make sure you're not replying to the initial email you get when you open the ticket, as this seems to move you to the bottom of hte queue as a newly re-opened ticket.

I understand somewhat how annoyed you might be. :(

On the off chance you have not checked this yet; Log onto your amazon account and go to "Your Games and Software Library". There should be a code in there for you.

The real dilemma is that; Powdered doughnuts are overpowdered, the chocolate doughnuts are too chocolaty, and the coconut crunch doughnuts have more coconut than all other doughnuts. This is OUTRAGEOUSLY unfair to other doughnuts!

So from now on, all you special snowflakes get is nasty plain doughnuts...enjoy!

jkbennettb14a_ESO, I feel like I'm a noob. ;) I'd never purchased a game through Amazon and they like to send you 5 different emails about the game you purchased - one of those was an early access promotional code. I'd checked through the Games and Software Library and couldn't find where any other codes were registered to because when clicking the product I purchased it takes me right back to the store I bought it from. However, that little yellow button that says "View Product Key" stuck under the quantity and operating system specs of the product does indeed have product key information. I double-checked and it appears to have been posted in the last 24 hours, so I wasn't completely out of my mind when I looked previously and was unable to find it. I appreciate the suggestion for what seemed like an obvious answer because it worked.

they want to get your credit info while you are dying to play, not when you have had time to think about it, beat the game, get tired of the customer service - kinda like forcing someone to make a decision when they are not ready, they usually regret it but what do you care you got what you wanted.
