Unable to load character. [EU EBONHEART]

When I start to load my character, it says An Unknown Error has Occured.

Is anyone else having this? I just need to know it's not only me.

I had this twice 10 minutes ago, now I am stuck in the cyrodill loading screen

Urgh. They really need to shut the servers down for a good 24 hours and just fix all of these problems. Would benefit them, and us more.

For God's sake, check for similar topics before making your own. There are about 10 topics about the unknown error so far.

Why does that matter chanz? There are hundreds of topics every few minutes and I couldn't see one with a similar name. This is fine.

and if you manage to login you will found no guild no contacts and no campaign, at least was like that to me 5 min ago, i just quit playing and hope they fix it

I have the same problem.
I was able to log into my main character, only to find I was no longer in a guild.
When I tried logging my alt too see if there was a problem there too, I started getting this problem.
Now I get the error no matter which character I choose.

can't log my main, which is on the island just north of ebonheart, but 3 allts (spread amongst the other 2 factions) are fine to log into (haven't tried anything else on them).

I sometimes get on, but within about a min I can kicked back to the log on screen with an unknown error.

I tried all of my chars. I can get into character select, but when I press play, I get "Requesting character load", and after 20 seconds it throws me back to the login screen with "An unknown error has occurred".

I find the level of feedback the client is providing me with to be... sub par.
EU Megaserver by the way. This morning before maintenance everything worked just fine...

I agree, the forums get flooded with topics each 10 seconds.

The second topic explains what happens if you make it into the game. Most players are missing guilds and friends on their lists. A zenimax staff member responded with a post, but nothing else then the standard procedure "Thank you, we will look into this".

My GF's account logs in ok (Vulkhel Guard, Auridon) mine - "unknown error".

Just had a "login timeout" too.
