Guild and friends are gone after patch

I was playing after some trouble getting in.

Then I got online and couldn't finish a quest so I relogged which caused me some problem logging in to the game.

Got an "unknown error" whenever I tried enter my selected character and got kicked out to the start screen where you need to enter password to enter the game.

After a couple attemts I got online and now I can't see the guild or my friends anymore.

Have the same problem. Friendlist is wiped clean and all three guilds are gone. I really hope this is just a temporary problem and will get fixed asap.

This is what happens when you have a stress test that only lasts a few days at a time spaced out over two weeks. These meta bugs don't present themselves during such short tests. I called it months ago... I hate to be proven right about these things because of the negative effect is has on the game.

Same here. Affected guilds were my trade guild and the guild I was leader off.
Friend list wiped too

Interestingly this did not happen isntantly. I was able to view my friends and use guild chat from some time after login. Even switched between Characters. But suddenly both wiped.

But I am as chilled as Gold Ice Enchantment about it. Sure you fix that before I really start missing it.

Exactly the same problem with me. Played through the dungeon and then all of a sudden unknown error has occured and my guilds, mail and friend list is gone...

Now my Friendlist and Guild Memberships are back again. Without any relog or Chatacter change.

Edit: Guild chat was not working again until I relogged with Character.
At wich point guild and friendlsit were wiped again.

I gonna asume both lists are chached and the time between clearing and rebuilding/first loading them is unusually long due to server load.

It was not enough that i lost all bank items and upgrades.
Now i had to loose friends list, guilds and everything i had set up for sales aswell..
Someone must be doing this to punish me for something..

Same here. Had the unknown error and now can't see friends list or guild.

Interestingly enough, according to my guild leader I'm still part of the guild roster but cannot be kicked. It's obviously something affecting individual players after some error but it DOES mean people are still members of their guilds.

Nah, this is what happens when you do maintenance in freaking prime time. Thousands of players trying to log in at the same time, ZERO opportunity for Zenimax to stabilize the server+patch and possibly rollback if need be without having a total meltdown. If you do these things in off peak periods, the few players online won't break things as fast, but what they did with the EU server is now royally biting them in the arse....not even the forums can handle the amount of hammering it has to endure now.

Yup same here... Fingers crossed for a fix as I had a good amount of items for sale across 4 trading guilds

Also have this issue .. not happy considering group of friends had pooled resources in the shared bank.

Same issue ! Lost the guilds including items in a guild store.
I'm afraid the return of this stuff would cost a char rollback...

Hmmm... I wonder why Greenshade wasn't doing constant rollbacks on the PTS or during the "stress tests." The reason on the PTS was that there were too few players to stress the servers with many thousands of people having the bugged Guardian quest. The reason the Stress Tests didn't pick them up, is because hardly anyone had time to get to Greenshade.

This particular bug may not be related to a lack of true stress testing, but it points to an overall pattern of not properly testing patch releases before putting them on production servers.

Out of the 30 or so MMOs I've tested... I've never seen a developer have such a limited stress test, as if their thinking was that they were just going to test to see if the servers could handle all the connections, when you can have a ton of bugs that only crop up in certain clusters when there are many people in a zone doing one or two activities that causes a cascade effect (which the Greenshade rollbacks were a perfect example of what a true stress test would find).

Just logged in on EU server... no guild, no friends list and refriending isn't working. Seems like the maintenance broke something.

It was just fixed for me. My char was ato-joined all my 4 guilds. Without any action from my side.

Likewise, everything re-appeared for me after a few minutes. Possibly temporarily on the overflow servers? It would be good to have some sort of notification though.

I relogged and guild and friends were back. The only trouble was that the guy I'm levelling with was now showing up as offline. He was now suffering the same issue and ended up giving up and logging out. There's a lot of confusion about the same issue in zone chat. If it's overflow, it would be better to have a popup to let people know, as in GW2.

yea bit odd, but if you lost friendslist and guild, you are probably on the overflow. I do agree that the game should tell you.
