Login Timeout

So I got through the queue and sorted out my sub. I had not realised this was needed beforehand as I have not been able to log in all week. A email notification would have been nice.
Anyway, its all sorted and the payment process was quick and easy.
However I have now been trying to log in for 40 minutes and keep getting Login Timeout.
Is there a problem with the servers? I cannot see anything on the alerts about it?
