................Erm... I logged into this account from this computer, with this IP address every day, since beta. **I logged into it, an hour ago, with this ip.. then I waited in a queue for 15mins to get back into it.. and wow.. apparently I'm using a different IP again..

To clarify ** I had to go through this protection process once already. I don't expect my ip to change every hour.

While it is odd, it can happen. I have comcast cable internet, and sometimes the router will reset for 30 seconds seemingly at random and I'll have a different ip when it's done. This could be a bug or it could be that your isp cycled the ip's. Do you know for sure that your ip didn't change?

I've had this a few times in ESO and yet I have static IP which I have had for the last 2 years. Very odd.

Very odd then. It does sound like there is a bug in the system in that case.

I also have a static ip, but... I do know that isp's mask your ip creating a bogus one. But I don't think this is the issue. However I would be interested in finding out if everyone is getting this everytime they log into their account online or if it is only me.. as maybe it would point to why I am having issues with the unknown error problem many are having. If my web account is expecting the same ip, maybe the log in servers are as well.. which is why we are getting kicked out again.

I have to reset my router every time I log in. I did this earlier.. thus I got a protection email, i went through the process and changed my password, waited 15mins to get back in and wahey.. it thinks i have yet a different ip..

In my case it's not true, as I have business fibre broadband and specifically have static exposed unmasked to the internet, as I run DirectAccess for VPN, which requires a true static public address.

but even so, masked or unmasked, the log in server/system should be based on your true ip, not the bogus one, as well as your login name and pw. Otherwise, anyone with this kind of isp security will have to go through this process.. everytime they login and until last night, this wasn't the case for me. I think they've added this as a new security level to the accounts system, along with the queuing system and they haven't done a particularly good job of it.

To clarify this, we had this issue with spammers in minecraft, so we'd ban their ip, the ip we banned was 2 fold, it would ban their current Masked ip and their true ip and we never saw them again. The only issues we have had is with vpn. Which required a unique mod.
