Grace Period Unreasonable

I pre-ordered, and paid for overnight shipping. It was shipped yesterday, but delayed due to weather. Now, it seems, I'll be unable to play the game tomorrow--despite having done everything correctly from my perspective.

You have really done your biggest fans, who bought the physical collector's editions, and yourselves a disservice by creating a deadline that's unrealistic. This will lower the number of starting subscriptions your corporate guys will be able to use as a starting number, because those of us still waiting for our game can't enter subscription information.

Realistically, I know nothing's going to change, because this has been complained about plenty on the boards. But I had surgery on Monday, and have been unable to play for more than a couple of hours. I'm finally starting to feel well enough to play, and I realized that I'm stuck in this catch-22 created by a poorly thought-out policy.

TBH, I haven't seen any other companies do a grace period like this at all, and they were pretty generous to extend it the way they did. However, as a goodwill gesture, I personally think it would be a good idea for them to extend early access until, say, Tuesday just to help cover people that didn't receive their imperial editions on time.

The thing is that most 3rd party outlets weren't allowed to ship the physical copies until the 4th. Therefore those of us who are getting them sent to us are screwed out of the gate because of the lack of mail delivery on the weekends.
If ZOS had permitted the 3rd party retailers to ship starting on the 31st (and charge for it) then we wouldn't be in this position.

I usually get the digital edition, so I haven't encountered this before. Is it really standard practice to not allow for shipping time?

Because either they needed to allow retailers to ship earlier, or needed to set the subscription start date later... or allow us to enter our sub info and start the sub without the code from the box.

This isn't true. Amazon shipped mine on the 3rd, and it was set to arrive on the 4th. However, they emailed me and said that a delay with FedEx is what caused it to not arrive yesterday.

I really don't see the point in making the cut off Sunday morning--and not at least through Sunday evening.

Just got off the phone with Game Stop. They said that ZOS did not allow them to ship before the 4th. My copy of Imp. Edition will not arrive until Tuesday end of day. It would seem to make sense that ZOS would take shipping time into account. when setting end of early access policy.
