Downloading slow for anyone?

Hey guy's I just bought the Imperial digital edition and it's been slow downloading in the 155kb's a second to the lowest being 10kb then jumping around the many different numbers then it goes to 0kb's and I have to pause and resume the download to get it to go again. I assume this is just because everyone and their mom is downloading eso today? I have never had anything download slow like this before, anyone else have this issue? I have currently 22407.59MB's remaining.

I'm not even at 1% yet, I'm guessing at this rate at least a week.

Started at 1800 yesterday and am now at 8%. At this rate it will take a week to download

Yeah it's super slow downloading on my desktop, which sucks, I have the game downloaded on my Mac and it's a shame I can't transfer the files over. Don't want to slow my internet bandwidth even more by attempting to play the game on the Mac at the same time. Dilemma.

I left it on all day/night about 25 hours total and I am at 18% with 320 Kb's a second and 9263.59mb remaining. At least it is better than 22mb remaining..>.<

Bump this, I hope someone is looking into this. I can understand it's the launch weekend, but they should have been better prepared for this.

I have been downloading at 1.25 MB per second which I believe the launcher is capped at I have never seen it reach anything over that. It took me all night to download the game I even watch it ALL NIGHT. It was strange it showed only 15 Percent when I had 9 GB left. The launcher needs to take advantage of a Peer2Peer System to get us the files faster.

The percentage is completely wrong. For some reason the game was broken into chunks, some being much much larger than others but taking up equal percentages. So don't go by the percentages to determine time remaining.

I have exactly 8kMB's left downloading at 450kb's a second and it is at 19% very strange.

You can try refreshing the launcher from time to time and anytime you encounter a problem. Close out anything taking up networking bandwidth and if you are on a network with many different computers other people are using see if you can shut them down to allocate more resources to downloading the game. There is no way to throttle the download via launcher or use any other method to quickly download the game the launcher is currently the only known option I am sorry to say.

Make sure your computer doesn't go in to power saving mode and stop everything as well...

Power Saving mode usually gives lower amounts of power to your LAN or WiFi Cards and as a result it cannot operate at maximum capacity. Also if your using WiFi, don't. WiFi's maximum speeds are significantly lower than LAN cable also coupled with the fact your losing packets and depending on signal strength your looking at delays in packet sending and receiving it is going to take for ever. So plug a CAT5e or CAT6, CAT7 Cable into your laptop for increased speeds.

Or like wanderingbluedragonnub18_ESO said power saving sleep mode can actually turn of your wifi and Ethernet card completely. Unless it is configured manually not to do so.

I made sure it wouldn't go into power saving mode and I am looking into buying a cable since I can't find one in my house. I am wondering however why it is at 19% and 7000mb's left..it should be done in 7 hours since it has been going down at last 1kmb every hour so I know it wont be at even close 100% by then, what does it mean?

Pressing Pause and then Resume sped my download speed from 40 kb/s to 120 kb/s You could try that.

@ThaneIndoril the Percentage doesn't matter my download Finished At 15% after the download finishes you will start patching if you really want an accurate percentage number restart your launcher it will do a check and your percentage will jump from 19% to around 70 or 80 Percent. You have 7,000 MB or 7 GB left at 1 MB Per Sec your looking at a little over 2 Hours Remaining 60 MB per Sec -> 3600 MB Per Hour | 7,000 MB / 3600 MB Per Hour = 1.944444 round up for fluctuations in download speeds your looking at a little over 2 hours. That is if you are getting 1 MB right now. your probably looking at a lot more. If they offered peer to peer the more people downloading could share files between each other to get the game a lot faster unfortunately p2p is not implemented, blizzards launcher uses p2p

@InfernoRaven‌ I clicked the x in the top right corner of the launcher and started it again it is back at 22MB's and it rapidly falling down to which I assume will be the 7gbs I had before I restarted it. I'll see if the percentage jumps to around 70 or 80% like you mentioned.

@InfernoRaven‌ I am now at 5287Kb's left and it is at 21% so I am not sure why it didn't change to the 80% that you encountered but I guess It's good since something good must happen after this 5k is done downloading. You said it starts patching?

Seems slow here. downloading to Mac for first time. Hope the gameplay is not lagged. Still have 12K MB left.....

Hey there, everyone. If you're still experiencing unusually slow download times, we're going to request that you send us your Game Consultant file so we can investigate further. Please attach the file as a private message to @ZOS_JasonL.

To run the Game Consultant file:

Open your launcher. Click the settings gear at the top right of the screen launcher. Select "About" and then "Game Consultant." Now click "Run Tests" to generate the Game Consultant file.

I'm currently sitting at about 22,800mb to go, downloading at 280kb/s. Might be here a while

Albeit one's internet connection speed plays a part, but what type of download speed should we be expecting from the server side? 5MB/s ? 20 MB/s? etc.??

I had 10% in just over 4 hours before it decided to crash, now I have to start all over and it's even slower than it was before. Probably at half speed.

I have not had any crash issues and have been downloading it for 25plus hours now. Try adding ESO to you're allowed list on you're firewall and right clicking the launcher and running it as admin.

To be totally honest, I'm not sure how long this will actually take to download. I'll have lost a week of my free game time just waiting for it to get done

I would assume they will give some type of game time for those who can't even access the game and are losing all the items etc but that is just my speculation. It's launch week I'm not mad things happen with a big game like this when everyone is trying to get on it, I haven't even finished downloading I have 1kmb to go I will update everyone as I go along.
