Can't Update to V1.0.1

So right now my game is stuck on V1.0.0.962841, and when I click Check For Updates my play button disappears for a little bit, then comes back up without downloading anything. I've tried repairing, restarting my computer, and disabling my anti-virus. Does anyone have any ideas?

edit: It should also be mentioned that I was able to play the beta just fine a few months ago using the same connection/same computer.

My theory is that someone forgot to update the displayed version number with that patch. Numerous people have reported this on the forums here (it also affects myself), but I find it highly unlikely that the game server truly allows people with an older version of the game to connect. Therefore I believe the patch is truly installed, but the version number being wrong is just a bug.

In that case, I'm still unable to get into the game:/
After putting in my info and hitting Login, I get Requesting Login for a while, then Login timeout, followed up an Unknown error has occurred.

Weird. If it isn't update version, I wonder what's stopping me from getting on. I heard a rumor somewhere that college internet doesn't like the ESO megaservers, could that be it?

I don't know for sure, but it wouldn't surprise me. I've lurked around many MMO forums during their launches and I've almost always seen some people state that they couldn't connect from their college/university. But again, I don't know for sure if this is a problem.

i cant play. Trying a fresh download , trying to copy data over to save time etc etc etc etc (great eh !!) Uusual problems with having to free up 60GB of disc space on my SSD

Stanley, are you using house or college internet? I'm interested to see if that might be it. Fingers crossed that it's something else that can just be fixed. Haha.

Launcher does not do any sort of 'update'.

I've also tried it via VPNs, so unless all 10 of them have the same 'college connection' thing you're all mentioning, something is up.
