Character attacks freeze during combat

I'm occasionally experiencing my character freezing while in combat. I can still do things like walk, jump and block but I can't attack or use powers.

My character's torso and arms sometimes freeze in some combat animation frame after the combat ends, while the walking/running animation continues to work properly, but attacking again unfreezes it.

ESC fixes it? This happens to my nightblade a lot and I've died to this more times that I can count...

Mainly happens on my Nightblade too. I have to get out of combat by running away or death and then hitting esc. It seems like the mana and stam pool just vanish. I only see the health pool when this happens.

In my situation, it's mostly death. Mana and stamina vanish entirely and I can't use any abilities. My movement speed is cut down to near zero as if I'm blocking or casting, but even slower. This makes it nearly impossible to get away from a raging mob unless I die.

I was nightblade too, I found clicking "m" twice fixes it (brings up the map) ... I assume that the interruption from a pop-up screen like map, inventory, menu jaunts the freeze.

From some other posts it seems related to specific abilities being interrupted / block by opponent.

I guess it's better to avoid those abilities until the bug is fixed, but first need to identify which ones are causing this and report them.

I don't believe it's related to interruptions and blocks, unless Daedra casting AOEs is somehow an interrupt that I'm not aware of. (That seems to bring about this issue on my computer with a vengeance.) I've also seen it happen when I get hit with arrow sprays and power attacks.

Edit: Basically, I'm ****ed in Daedra fights. There's some 'healthy' use of the esc key going on. /facepalm

From what i've experienced/read

- this is related to using dualwield, possibly nightblade dualwield
- It seems to happen more frequently when using first person view.

As a dualwield nightblade myself, it only happened to me once. I am playing almost exclusively in 3rd person view, camera scrolled all the way out. For what it's worth, if you experience this issue frequently, you might give it a try to play like that as well, maybe it will help.

I play in 3rd person view with the camera scrolled all the way out... I'm a dual wielding nightblade also. This happens to me every second fight... extremely frustrating..

I've been getting this a lot recently. Always in combat.
Mostly it seems I get stuck when spamming Dark Flare (I'm a templar)
I've died 3 times to it in the last 5 minutes

I have this same problem constantly throughout the game. It gets me killed so often, it's a joke.

Fighting mob, then all the sudden can't use any skills. Press M twice, ok, then brakes again.

• How Zenimax is ignoring THIS bug, out of all of them, is beyond me. I don't see how they're completely blind to a bug like this.

I love the game, truly do. But these types of bugs are about to make me go elsewhere.

I've been playing 3rd person as others have suggested, but I really don't like it. I sometimes go back to 1st only to be punished again. It's frustrating, but at least I can still fight (looking at the postives)

This is happening to me constantly, so very frustrating. I have almost lost the will to log into the game because of this bug/horrible game mechanic.

I play a nightblade I always use first person unless in dungeon and I experience this lock ups quite frequently also very annoying been killed a few times due to this

I play a duel wielder. This is seriously a problem, I have defended ESO so much against bad reviews but I'm to the point of quitting if this bug doesn't get fixed. Yes, once in a while, understandable. But wasting money time and time again to repair crap from getting beat down by lower level creatures is ridiculous. I have currently reloaded ui 7 times, hit escape, disabled sticky keys because I thought that might have some strange link, and everything else I can think of. It's been a solid 10 minutes of this right now. Sorry to rant, but Zenimax, FIX THIS CRAP IMMEDIATELY!!! I've had this problem since logon the first day.

After playing further and still getting annoyed, I have realized it seems to be associated with sprinting. It seems like rolling to the side sort of "knocks it loose." Hopefully this helps with the resolving of the issue of other players agree.

This bug has been existing since Before launch. We can only hope they find the fault and fix it. Or it could simply be they do not care or will adress it in a upcoming Add on/patch with Thiefs Guild and such. But until then esc is the only option as far as i know

It's not only related to dual wielding. I have it happen to my Templar wielding 2H swords several times aday, often with a fatal outcome. It's starting to get beyound annoying since it seems to be an old bug many players experience!

I know it's not much, but the repair costs and having to use soul gems is the most annoying. It's often when I'm in a dungeon doing a quest where I don't want to get warped way back because it's a waste of time retraveling there.

Could not finished banished cells veteran, all 4 group members were lagging and freezing and what not, we went down so many times from this we just left.

Even someone said, that veteran dungeons and pvp should be just removed till EU gets the EU server.

Deaths in pve in veteran means lots of money in repairs and soul gems.....
