Between the video showed on stream/sent to content creators and the most recent article posted to the website, we've gotten two different depictions of Templar jabs using the old spear model. In the footage of the necro goliath using it, it's even got the old 4-strike animation rather than the "improved" version we got in U35.
Considering the backlash (heh) to the new Aedric spear model being simply a retextured Nighthollow staff, a model that matches neither the models used throughout the rest of the skill line nor is it consistent with the Aetheric Lancer class set (to say nothing of the appalling thematic issues with choosing that staff style out of the 250+ that are already available), I'm left wondering "why?"
Part of me is cautiously optimistic regarding the upcoming patch notes and is hoping for some kind of reversion to the more consistent pre-U35 model. More likely, I imagine, is that it's just false advertising and this lifelong templar main will remain heartbroken.
