Haven't played in 2 years, question about class balance.

How is the class balance now days?

Is it frowned upon to take an off meta healer class like a sorcerer into vet trials?

I remember the elitism around classes to be insane,if you don't push for score or world record and just want a clear, it shouldn't really matter, right?
But it did back then.

Just curious on the state of the end game.

Edit: I have 9 max leveled characters, always pushed for meta in pve and PvP but didn't enjoy it, for example I'm not really a fan of Warden healer even tho I suspect it's still meta.

Things are very balanced. One thing you have to remember is that ESO isn't like your other Linear MMOs, and as much as people try to shout about it, there is no 'meta'. You instead have CHOICE. You can make any setup extremely effective depending on how you build your character, and how it benefits your personsl playstyle.

As long as you know what you're doing and have the sets the raid lead is looking for, there wouldn't be a problem in the open trial community or the vast majority of group finder pugs.

Only in HM/tri cores would there be any appreciable pushback.

The main thing is sets. Most raid leads expect one healer in spc/pillagers and the other in rojo.

There's some classes that are still looked down upon in certain specs (like templar tank and dk healer) but its not impossible to join a trial as any class on any role. You just have to find your kind of people. Also, sorcerer healer got a buff. This made sorc tanks more of a thing but it would apply to you too.

Class balance isn't that bad at least on the PVE side and with Scribing that came out with Gold Road. Sorcerer healers should be more viable theres definitely more options. But if your pushing for score there will always be elitism.
