As a stamarchinist, I was looking forward to Coral Riptide daggers to have the versatility of making the jewelry/weapon FB. After checking today, I have EVERY non-perfected piece of gear from every set ....every...single...piece......except the Coral Riptide daggers.

I think it was the last drop I got too. I had got the drop when in a trials group a while back but was running a mag build at the time and gave it to a stam build. Then I switched to arcanist, lol.

Yeah, but was that bad luck or good luck? As a potential seller of Coral daggers, you'd want those to drop last. It's been a while, but I think the going rate for perfected ones used to be 1M on PC EU. That said, I was once in a group where someone said "I'll pay 15M for those". They dropped for someone else (not me) and a transaction was duly made.

As far as I know there is no way to destroy or sell an item without filling your stickerbook, other than giving it to another player within 2 hours. For a vet trial item seller, this means they can't really do runs without lining up a buyer beforehand and having a guaranteed sale. If, for the sake of the argument, the group disbanded without anyone trading, as is so often the case, this would bind the item to the failed seller's stickerbook. All in all, it needs to be a guaranteed drop, so you can entice and line up a buyer before the trial with that prospect.

I think it's quite rare you actually get to sell an item at such prices, or it might not gel with your goals or ethics anyway. At the same time, over the course of 9 1/2 years, I've come across players throwing gold around like it was nothing. Someone in Craglorn once gave me a couple of million for white quality New Moon Acolyte, maybe because they wanted to do a BG right that minute. People have also paid me a million+ for BRP levelling occasionally. I don't advertise, but you get lucky sometimes. Holding off on adding highly desirable perfected daggers to your stickerbook could turn out a boon.

I don’t know if I would do that. I’ve sold some furnishing plans for hefty prices in the past, but gear is a different thing. Besides, if I’m in a vet trial it’s with people I know so if they need the drop I hand it over. I only run trials with pugs if it’s normal.

I've honestly always just handed gear over that people were looking for free. And I've been given it for free, even in pugs. I even tried to a pay a couple times way back and the person refused to take it. 🤷🏿‍♀️ Maybe I've just been lucky but most of the times I've seen it done transactional the buyer insisted on it before the run even started and then got whatever they were looking for

That's what most people do. I use BindAll, but I advertise my duplicates with LootLog and give them away. Doesn't really feel right to do otherwise. It's just a game, but then again, it's just a game. You can do things you wouldn't do in real life. I'm fascinated by that. It explains why I'm not rich in real life and neither are most people :#. While I asked a guy once, and they confirmed that actively selling gear / carries is quite a grind, I've been intrigued by how happy people are to offer very large sums of their own accord from time to time.

People who have something on farm and want to run the content without a guaranteed buyer can simply not loot the boss in question unless they know they have a sale. Things can’t be bound if they’re never looted in the first place.

Hey there @fred4 :) And honestly, I've never sold an item at a trial...ever...regardless it's worth. If I didn't need it, I give it away.

I have a friend that helped me and buddies farm for gear, and we usually asked him to give the good gear away, like Turning tide ice staff, zens daggers etc and after he gave that piece of gear it was literally the last item he could drop was quite ironic because it happened in several dungeons with several drops.

For me it's the ice staff of Pillager profit. I have every single piece except my damn ice staff and a random 2H maul, and I just KNOW I'm getting that maul first.

I’m glad you got your item, then. As an aside, irony is technically defined as a disparity between what you expect to happen and what actually happens. I’d probably call this “typical MMORPG luck.” 😜

It took me 42 runs of falkreath hold to get pillar of nirn daggers.

I only use them for parsing, I don't even use them in content.

I once heard a comedian say something really funny about that song by Alanis Morissette, “Ironic.” A black fly in your Chardonnay, rain on your wedding day, a free ride when you’ve already paid, a plane going down on your first flight… the comedian said, “Alanis, these things are not ironic, they’re unfortunate!” 😂
