Necessary introduction: I followed a Gacha game for years (without playing it) getting recommended clips of streamers that hyped like crazy the times they got the character they wished for from Loot Boxes.
I then played it myself for around 100 hours but I soon realized: man, this is REALLY BAD for mental health!
I got so many ads out of the game, on any platform, that hyped up tremendously the latest time-limited character, with streamers talking about how much you NEED it, because it's OP or cool or whatever. Except what you don't know is that those who got that character have probably spent hundreds if not THOUSANDS of real dollars/euros, because it has absurdly low drop rates.
All of this makes you feel poor, incompetent, sad, unlucky... I started to feel head and heart pain any time I see that character in a YouTube ad, because "oh how lovely, how perfect, how much I MUST have it!"...

I have quit for good that game, and I have resentment against it.
ESO? I am still here after multiple thousands of hours over 8 years. Why?
ESO marketing is NOT aggressive and the community doesn't glorify Crown Crates.
Let me explain:

The fact you get a splash page advertising crown crates when you open the game every day? Not a problem at all - I know many ESO players that to this day don't even know Daily login rewards exist, because they simply auto dismiss any window that opens like that in game. Definitely this is NOT aggressive.
Out of the game? Any time you see an ad of any kind of ESO's content it looks like a normal ad - it's never a "you must get this. You ABSOLUTELY need this. Buy it. Buy it! BUY IT! You'll never get it again!!! Ah, you are going to regret not buying this SO BAD...!". They don't push too hard, and if you think they do you have not seen things pushed hard...
In my experience, wether it was from Zos themselves or from content creators, I never felt like poop for not buying something.
ESO community is pretty chill and honest about crates, often showing with videos and stats how the drop rate really is. I never felt the urge of buying crown crates because the community informed me and I've happily decided that when I buy them I do that just for the crown gems conversion, without hoping for any specific reward - this way I "always win", having a more healthy relation with this aspect of the game.

What I would improve is the Seals of Endeavor prices, changing them to this:
800 Seals
1.500 Seals
2.800 Seals
6.000 Seals
12.000 Seals
This way it would feel like you are getting a bigger discount going up, incentivizing to spend more Seals. It would feel more a reward.
With the prices we have right now it feels more like a job instead, and more often than not you end up skipping purchases altogether because they don't feel worth your hard work.
Please consider...

I am grateful to Zos marketing and the ESO community because if things were different I would have left this game long ago in frustration, but this aspect still feels healthy enough to me.
I REALLY HOPE this post ages well and doesn't become a parody of itself when Seasons and new content releases will be revealed.
For now, thank you everyone and enjoy your stay in Tamriel!

Let me tell you something, zos didn't release the endeavor seals just cause they felt like it, it was made so they abide by dutch gambling laws.

Am I complaining? of course not, free stuff from the crown crates is always nice, but that's just a symptom as the discrepancy between crown crate/store to in game acquisition is vastly in favor of the crown crate.
Without doing any math There are probably like 400 mounts? (Im too lazy to count but you can see them here)
    https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Online:Mounts
How many do you think are earnable? probably less than 30? Pets are probably the same as well as costumes currently probably like 10% of the cool stuff are actually earnable and sure us having the tools to get stuff from the crates for free is nice, it's still not as rewarding as doing quests or farming for that elusive mount, mount, pet you can flex in the city.
Are crates in ESO p2w? no are they hurting the game? probably not they making zos money so they can keep the lights on, but crown store being exclusive way to earn mounts is a bad business decision since it's an mmo and we lose the "replay ability" part like there's no incentive to go out and do something for the 2nd 3rd time.
I'm not begging zos to give me 100 mounts, I'm just asking them to let us the players the ability to farm stuff from new and old activities to earn collectibles, if there is a healthy proportion between crown crates and earnable rewards there will be less hate from the playerbase and more player retention.

Yeah, sure, easy to agree with this :) I got no objection at all.
The only thing I would add is that even basic staple mounts cost gold and are not earned trough like a "complete starter island zone quests" achievement.
Those few earnable mounts are behind Trifectas... Not exactly the most accessible of content.
BUT I really appreciate the new direction with Golden Pursuits finally rewarding good stuff for free to anybody without requiring absurd amounts of effort.
So I am optimistic looking forward!

Not sure it's not a bait post but I'm... glad that at least full on gotcha players enjoy the monetisation scheme of theirs.

Honestly the trifecta mounts are fine, they are there to show hey look I've done the hardest content in the game here is something for the effort I've put in the game as some progs take many months to clear. But they shouldn't be the only earnable ones (outside of event mounts) casuals, rp'ers, people who do housing etc should have the abiliity to farm mounts pets costumes ingame.
    Here are a few example:
    1. Like you suggested finishing a story for zone/alliance for a mount.
    2. Some gold sink mount for 100k,1m,10m,100m etc even at 50 and 100m mounts whales will buy for sure
    3. Rare drops from dungeons/trial, just like Asylum polymorphs from vAS. Or skin from molag bal in the sewers.
    4. Creating some long drawn out quests that needs a lot of time to do.
    5. Creating some pvp quests like killing X people or Capturing Y keeps to get your alliance's mount.
    6. Have a rare npc spawn anywhere in eso wheter it be in pve or cyro/ic that if you talk with him he will give you quest that if you complete will give you a mount.
And so on, there are so many ways to incorporate collectible mounts in game, and having some cool stuff to work on will bring people back.

I've seen people on the forum/reddit cry about daily login reward crown crates cause it lets you get the first hit and get addicted to gambling so they don't want those anymore.
There's a rumor those people are why we didn't have crown crates in daily login rewards for like 2-3 years.

Obviously I am in the park of "give us more free crown crates as daily login!" instead XD The more the merrier, IMO.

I assure you I am so naive that I don't even get how my post could be a bait, so... Not a bait at all, I just wanted to tell my experience - comparing ESO to those games gave me a relief about my investment in ESO.
I used to feel like content creators pointing at "crates bad" were too harsh, but now I see that their advice is what made me go cautiously in my spendings and thanks to them I've not become a "insert game title" whale.
I am happy that I've been able to recognize what was REALLY bad in time, before wasting myself.
On the other hand, over the years I've been satisfied with my investments in ESO (other gameplay issues aside).
