We are owed compensation.

Zenimax providers a service no different than Sprint or the local cable company. When the service goes offline, they are not providing the commercial material which we have paid dollars for. This is no different.

To make matters worse, we are the people who supported them before the game went live. We are the ones who helped them develop this product.

Thus, when they decide on how to compensate us for this downtime, they need to do more than give us something cosmetic. It needs to be a delay in when we get billed (at least 2-3 days) AND something nice in-game.

Yeah I read the posts from this morning and was like oh ok itll be up by noon they say, jolly good then off to get some breakfast. Come back at noon to find the new post of " Itll be between 1-2 hours from now". I think oh ok then sure maybe ill be lucky and itll come up in the 1 hour. Come back at 2 o clock sharp to log in and find out oh what do you know another delay and itll be 230 now. Am I the only one who is starting to think the game doesnt exist? Did I just dream the hours I put into this? Is this real life?

They don't owe you anything. Maybe you should actually read the terms and agreement instead of clicking agree (yeah, I don't read them either). You will see quite clearly, you are owed nothing.

A gesture of goodwill on their part would be nice. Something like extra 2 days game time added.

No one is entitled to compensation of any kind from ZOS. That is all!

The only thing they owe is some respect for the lore and the game. Which I don't think they have.

We're already on "goodwill", we got early access to a game that doesn't launch until 4/4/2014...

I think you should be happy they are fixing bugs. So no, you dont deserve a thing. In fact the game isnt even live yet so what are you worried about. Oh and they said in the fine print no guarantees it will be up the entire early access.

Some people were promised 5 days of early access. Not four and a half days of early access. When Zenimax has clearly failed to deliver on that promise, we are owed something.

    I don't agree.

The server has been down for a little over 12 hours.

Once your FREE month is over, the game costs 50 cents per day.

So...if you want a little more than 25 Cents as compensation, be my guest. But I think you're being a little dramatic.

Exactly, this is par for the course. People have to vent frustration I guess.

This is a commercial transaction. A merchant cannot claim he gets to bill you for something and then not deliver the goods. I realize such legal concepts may be far beyond your ability to understand, but eventually you will come to understand such abstract principles.

As for your theory that a TOS can nullify consumer fraud laws, I find your naivety most charming.

Now, did you have anything constructive to say?

All they owe me is the best damn game they can put out. I will determine if it meets my expectations by the end of April. Everyone else will be doing the same as I am with just a difference on timing. Good luck Zenimax.

Like people stated, early access. New Game means downtime. It will either happen before official launch or after launch. I would prefer it to be before they have more people hammer the log in servers.

What's your address? I'll personally send you a check for 25 cents.

Seriously, a little downtime isn't really a big deal. You come off as a whiner.

Server is up. Go play and grow up a little.
  • DanMan3395
A gesture of good will would indeed be nice. They don't owe us anything for sure, but it couldn't hurt considering how many people basically lost an entire day of PTO for this early access day.

OP, please re-read Zenimax's terms that you accepted when you first logged into game. Scroll down to number 6. http://www.zenimax.com/legal_terms_us

Server downtime for maintenance is necessary and common in all MMO's.

first they don't guarantee game time, no MMO does. you pay for the ability to access the servers when they are up. This of course does not help their rep but you are not owed anything. If they feel like being nice they can compensate you, but seeing as their service is pretty *** poor, their communication is abysmal I would not expect it.

Honestly, after sinking around 90$ for this game and looking to a subscription that's going to have to get paid soon after; my reflections on this have been very disappointing. Was kicked out last night because of maintenance that never ended. Was excited this morning as it's my last day off and still no go. To be perfectly honest this does suck. People paid their money and the expectations were to enjoy "early access" but you can't enjoy "early access" or any type of "access" at all if you can't log into the server. I'm sorry, I love Elder Scrolls as much as the next guy but they dropped the ball. Plain and simple. I honestly expected more from them than this. It's Fallen Earth all over again. I wonder how long before they go free to play?

Would you be so cavalier if your cellphone provider was down for 14 hours?
