oh missing data isn't as bad as having to tap E a hundred times (or whatever the button was)

just saying it was possible to get sales without having to do anything else or install other libs, so figured asking wouldn't hurt ;)
It doesn't hurt at all. I don't mind the question. However, the continued mention (by anyone) that you have to press E hundreds of times is simply whining and based on made-up numbers. I understand the emphasis on what you don't want to do, but pressing E hundreds of times is unnecessary unless you delete the binary cache.

Currently, after Update 41, you receive 500 sales each time you press E. So, for 3,000 sales in a day, you only need to press E about 6 times. When your binary cache is intact, the UI only allows you to press E enough times to receive the data from when you were not online.

When people play for 5 days and log out without waiting for the server to give them all the data, they will end up with small gaps for each day. Each day the player compounds the situation by not manually obtaining any missing data for each day they played. For the 6th day when they have more time, if they simply wait for the server, all 6 days of data has to be received (ignoring duplicate sales) to fill in the gaps. Waiting for those 6 days of data because of the server-controlled cooldown would be impossible. Manually requesting the data is simple and only takes a matter of minutes for each guild.

In the past, when the server only had 10 days of data, I'm aware that some people simply requested 10 days of data because they felt it was needed to ensure their sales data was accurate. This is unnecessary as of Update 41 because of the binary cache.

I've been adamant because I have been fighting for over four years against the notion that people think they just sat there and got data automatically without doing anything, but that in doing so they received all their data. Unless you were using LibHistoire, you would never have had any visual reference to know whether or not you had gaps in data.

For those who were frustrated with LibHistoire prior to update 41 and uninstalled it, thinking they had gaps in the data due to the mod, were misunderstanding the process. They blamed the mod instead of recognizing that the missing data was due to their own refusal to follow the recommended process and understand how the system works.

LibHistoire made automatic requests prior to Update 41, and it still makes automatic requests when you have missing data. However, the server has always controlled how often you receive the data from these automatic requests.

To reiterate, because there are those that are not aware, LibHistoire no longer stores any sales data. That is all managed by ZOS and is part of the game as of update 41.

With the new API and the LibHistoire GUI that uses the new functionality ZOS provided, it's easier to see when you have gaps in data. This new system optimizes how sales data is stored using a binary cache, significantly reducing the number of times you need to press E and making the process far more efficient.

As of Gold Road if you go to Guild History and click the arrows to cycle through to the next page, it appears that the UI grabs the data automatically.
