Weekly Endeavors week beginning 19/02/24 - Not for Casual Gamers!

1. Kill 15 players in Cyrodiil
2. Defeat 7 Patrolling Horrors in the Imperial City Districts
3. Complete 4 Trials

I get that it is WSM/MYM this week but really? Two out of the three weekly endeavors are PVP based and the third is Trials.

Nothing for the casual gamer this week then.

I get that the third option isn't PVP but Trials are also something which many casual players simply don't engage in. As such many of us will be locked out of earning the 250 endeavors this week.

Disappointed.

Agreed. That's why we got some free seals last week. They know perfectly well that (relatively) few people will complete these tasks this week. Guess it keeps the server's empty enough for people to go to Cyrodiil and kill something? Dunno, I'll never understand ZoS' decisions.

Have to agree, this combo of endeavours should NEVER happen. As these activities are all only for the top 2-3% of the playerbase. (Note: Why is the kill 15 players only for Cyrodiill? Should include every PvP activity)

Timecommitment wise this is also a terrible combo.

PS: I'm hoping I may luckily complete the 15 players in Cyrodiil kills during the event.

get a flaming oil for few hundred ap.
pour oil down the ram during MYM.
get 500 kills because most people have 20k hp, which is 2 tick of oil burn.

You will spot them fixing walls and hoping for defence ticks

But I agree with @finehair, just grab oils or a meatbag catapult. Honestly, even for someone like yours truly that sees PvP as 'penance' is kinda fun during Mayhem.

If you can spare the resources required you can even 'wear' one of these:

    https://eso-pvp-builds.com/cyrodiil-angler/

And bore opponents to death

For as long as you have the right mindset (making it as tedious for others as it is frustrating for yourself rather than hoping to get 'ez phat killz' for instance) there is entertainment to be found and you can get tickets and the endeavour(s) done.

    Do normal trials

Or just find a zerg of your alliance in cyro and just light attack enemy players. Pretty sure you don't need killing blows just to do something.

    Will take 5 minutes.

Not sure we have same understanding of casual play. Not a week for people who ignore big parts of the game - sure, but that's the case for a lot of weeks in different ways.

Even the most casual people would be able to place a meatbag catapult at the defending keep/breach to score 15/week or join couple normal trials to be literally carried through them if they detest PvP so much to join a campaign and participate in celebration.

Finding the keep to wait at and not get clobbered when the zerg roles in is not as trivial as you indicate. Waiting until late in the week to try is risky on these too. I assume the event will start late in the week.

I have not seen one that was not something anyone can do in any week prior since I returned in late November. Which other weeks are you considering? What "set" was impossible to do at some level? A few may be a pain, if you are not a harvester, for example, but it is still much easier than getting 15 PvP kills.

I did help several people get another of theirs in my brief attempts so far. Only 1 kill for me (surprisingly) so far. Not encouraging.

Sorry, but really annoying. Make 1 of these this week and one next, though following the pattern we will get 2 both weeks. Really bad on ZOS' part.

    Stop complaining!

STOP MAKING THIS GAME AND EVERYTHING ABOUT CASUALS!!!

Every single day of this life these forums have complains favoring casuals.

It's not our fault that casuals are casuals, so if you're a casual know that there are things that you won't be able to complete or do, because... guess what... because you are a casual.

I think you should re-evaluate how you see playerbase.
You always write no one want to do pvp, in my experience in several social guilds that is totally wrong.
And I am talking about very social/casual guilds. A lot of people love to do PvP their way.

They won't zerg over all the IC districts from Thursday, will they?
If you say 'no, they won't', I don't believe you. Because it is not the first MYM in my ESO life :p

Lots of builds seem to require the flare skill, but it's rank 7 in alliance war, so isn't it putting the cart before the horse? Anyone that has got there surely already has some idea about pvp, and/or a somewhat okay connection. (I don't have rank 7 yet, at about 1700 cp for comparison).

As a casual, who doesn't do much pvp, I got 15 Cyro kills in a bit over an hour. You don't need to kill them yourself, just contribute to the damage dealt.

A little less aggressive tone and being bit more respectful towards other players would go a long way getting your point across. And I don't see anyone demanding every endeavour to be fit for casuals players, do you? All I see is people complaining about the lack of diversity in the tasks and the fact it's either PvP or 'elite' stuff only this week. And apart from your personal opinion, people are perfectly in their right to complain about such things.

All the week I've seen groups for craglorn normal trials in group finder.
You could go there with mismatched sets and just spamming light attacks and no one would say anything.
    Yest, they are that easy.

The Cyrodiil endeavor isn't as hard as it seems if you find a group of other players from your alliance and join in a fight against the other alliances, because (1) you don't need to kill anyone yourself, just land some hits on other players; (2) even if you die after landing some hits, you'll still get credit if someone else from your alliance kills the player you landed a hit on; and (3) it isn't necessary to be grouped with anyone. At least, that's been my experience. In the past I've been surprised at how easy it was to get these types of endeavors completed despite the fact that I stink at PvP. :)
I've fought mudcrabs more fearsome than me!

Wouldn't an actual "Casual" player not really care whether or not a single week does, or does not, cater to them? If a player experiences enough angst over not wanting to participate in a current week's choice of tasks, that wouldn't be so casual would it? An actual casual player would just say "Meh, who cares" and then proceed to keep on keepin on like they are wont to do.

I am expecting to see a lot of LFM announcements for nAA, nHRC, nAS or nCR on Craglorn this week.
But, the Cyrodiil one will be faster option once the event starts. Get some siege, join a keep defense, hit some people with the siege. You do not need to get the killing blow, and you do not even need to survive the process.

At 15, it seems more like a daily goal, not a weekly goal. I am wondering if that is a mistake they missed on review. Maybe it was supposed to be 150.

"I don't see anyone demanding every endeavour to be fit for casuals players, do you? All I see is people complaining about the lack of diversity in the tasks..."

In fact, you make the point that the OP and every casual gamer ask to have everything for casuals, but it's not the case since both the OP, the quote, and other players are asking for ONE single alternative.

I for one would be fine in seeing a PvP endeavor in the 5 dailies to chose to add variety and make PvPers happy, and sometimes it already happens. So I don't see why you should get angry if a casual is asking for ONE alternative that doesn't take anything away from you.

ASIDE FROM THAT - I cleared 7 Patrolling Horrors this morning. I was AD and I encountered both DC and EP players. Not a single time one player attacked another one: we were all there for the Weekly. We even helped each other killing the Horrors, being cautious and standing away because we were all Heavy Attackers and Trifocus would have ended us all. It was no-CP IC btw, and it was early.
I just wanted to say this for the "casuals like me" who don't like PvP: that land is not always a tragedy. It CAN be if you meet the wrong people XD but there are some cool guys in there.
