Being of Norwegian descent, I somewhat personally relate to this, even though the OP makes it sound like this is highlighting a Cultural opposition to the general Norwegian/Nordic people and what they may have done to a minority group over the years, and, in before lock due to not being game related.

I have no intention to make a difference of people living today. We live toghether and we are equals. We should however remember history and learn from it so we dont redo the wrongdoings of the past :) Be proud of who you are :)

That is what it's called yes :) Here north we are celebrating it with wearing traditional clothes, eating traditional food (reindeer meat, fish or other foods depending on where you live). In schools we are talking about traditional way of living and tolerance for different cultures. As far north as I live, we are also celebrating that the sun is back after a dark winter with no daylight :)

I find this thread interesting, but it's at risk of being closed due to not being related to ESO. So let's make it related to ESO: are there many Sami playing the game? Any opinions on the game's portrayal of the Nords, be that the lore, customs, cultural styles, etc? Are there any similarities between the Sami and the Skaal (the latter are mentioned in ESO, even if they don't appear)?

I read an article the other day about the Sami being cut off from their brethren because of border "difficulties" resulting from, say, geopolitical conditions. It was saddening to read about them being affected by something they didn't cause, but heartening to see how they still considered those across the border kin. Congrats on your day!

Guys it IS eso related because eso posted an article about it. Stop saying inb4close cause it's an endorsed subject by elder scrolls. Check out the link someone else posted
