The amount of Alliance Points for the daily Log in award is too much

I'm one of the last people to ever complain about the log in rewards, as they're free stuff just for starting the game, and I could go into a whole tangent on that kind of "rewarding" alone, but instead here all I want to say, is I personally believe giving out 100,000 Alliance Points for a single day, is WAY too much. Normally I'd have to work my butt off for hours in Cyrodiil to earn six figures, I don't exploit, I'm not a 1vXer bombing large groups over and over. I fight the hard way, and yeah, I take slight issue with 100k just being given out, even though I fully expect people to come in here saying earning AP is stupid easy for them and this is nothing. It's something to a player like me.

I'd have not minded enough to say something if the biggest day was like half that at most.

In the grand scheme of things, 100k AP isn’t even that much, especially when there are people walking around with millions. It’s not like it’s enough to make people say “Guess I don’t need to do PvP anymore”. Plus, it’s a one-time payout for a single day. There’s still another 28 days worth of PvP to do.

100k AP is frankly nothing. The equivalent of 10 first place BGs. I easily make that and more in an evening spent in Cyro with the guild. If you prefer to solo in Cyrodiil, that is your choice. You could also accrue 100k AP easily, if that was your intent.

I'm totally fine with a one-time 100k AP reward for all the folks who don't like PVPing. After all, I personally don't like slogging through vet DLC dungeons, and appreciate being able to get DLC monster helms in exchange for some AP via the Golden every so often... Don't see many PvE'ers insisting that us PVPers should have to slog through the vet DLC dungeons like they did.

It's just a nice little gift. ZOS should have more reward months like this.

They should just get rid of login rewards entirely. There is literally nothing they can give out that doesn't draw complaints.

Anyway, on maybe a more serious note... I don't pvp except during mayhem events, and I have like 1.8m AP... so even to me this doesn't feel like an overwhelming amount for a one time reward.

I'm no 1 v xer, no bomber, or a member of a ball grp. I'm largely solo. And on most days I can definitely make around 100k AP.

Honestly I probably make more AP solo than I do when in grp because I'm always on the move and go where I want to go. At the end of every Camp, my leaderboard AP usually hovers around 5mil.

I'm totally fine with ppl getting 100k from the daily login, whether they're PvPers or PvEers.

I'm actually looking forward to that 100k going towards my current PvP main I'm working on 5 staring. That'll probably be near a 200k day for me. And MYM is supposed to be this month. She'll be 5 star in no time. 😁

I really don't see the issue to be honest.
I can earn quite a bit of AP points on my own with some time and effort and the 100k AP is just a nice added bonus on top of that. I don't miss out on anything. Plus people that don't like pvp can save up for motifs and such this way.
It really isn't that much and frankly, it doesn't effect your gameplay at all.

What seems to be lost is you are also getting that 100K AP. You can take advantage and log in on a low level character that needs to level the PvP skill lines and advance them a good chunk with no effort.
Or if you grab it on your main it still is 100K and nothing stops you from going to PvP land for even more.

The amount is high enough to peak interest, but low enough to make no lasting impact on balance.
100k AP take you very far on the journey to rank 6 in Alliance Skill Line. I believe rank 5 unlocks at 98k AP.

Even if a player never engaged in PvP before they are now only one rank away from getting Caltrops and Barrier.
That might be enough to get them to engage in PvP.

Which is a good thing ...

If you feel that 100k AP in Cyro is hard earned, surely then a gift of 100k AP is awesome! :D
My main PVP character is AR39, so 100k AP for no effort is certainly welcome but it's a drop in the ocean of AP I need to get to AR50! :D

It's not the first time they've done something like this, although it might be the first time they grouped it together like that.

My crafter has never been to Cyrodiil but because he's the character I always log into first and so the one who always collects login rewards he's Alliance rank 10 (Veteran Grade 2) just from collecting AP in login rewards. According to UESP that means he's gotten 456,000 AP, and I'm sure I've missed some. (It actually works for me since his backstory is that he's a retired Imperial soldier.) By comparison my main character who has done all the PvE stuff in Cyrodiil and IC, a bit of PvP and several Battlegrounds is Veteran Grade 1.

So I guess that means almost 1/2 my AP has come from login rewards. (I've done bits on other characters as well.)

And if they desperately don’t want to engage in PvP but need or want the skills for say…Trials…now they don’t have to. I’ve had guildies thank me for War Torte because it got them done with Cyrodiil faster just on that basis.

AND, it's not like this happens on anything near resembling a regular basis.
This is only the second time in the years I've been playing this game that they've dropped a lump of AP like this in the daily log-in rewards, and it's not going to do much for me at all as far as getting me toward max-level in the Alliance War skill-lines.

OP is blowing this way out of proportion.

Isnt 1 Battleground match just short of 10k AP even if your team lose?

Im not a PvP player but from what I know you cant really buy a lot with just 100k AP not even 1 motif, you can buy 5 dawn prism or 5 gear containers in cyrodiil.

Everyone is getting 100k AP so I dont see a problem with it.

Am I misremembering things, or did they not also give a large amount of AP as a daily reward sometime on the last year? Around the mayhem event as well?
I think they are using the daily rewards to point players towards in-game systems they want players to pursue, with large endeavor and AP rewards this month. And I fail to see a problem with that.

Yep. Though I don't remember exactly when it was, it was a one-day reward of 150,000 AP (not a multi-day ramp-up like they're doing this month, which I'm sure is just related to 10th Anniversary celebratory "generosity").

I do not think you are misremembering.

They also give out piles of gold on a single day. What I want next is a pile of Tel Var stones.

Additionally, I would suspect that Day 21 rewards are a challenge for a lot of players. Just because they put some reward on the calendar does not mean that everyone is getting it.

        Let's keep it clear.
Do you think that 100k AP reward is too much for you personaly, so you don't want to obtain it?
I guess you can solve this problem easily. Just don't get the reward.

Or may be you think that 100k AP is too much for everyone? Let's say because many people would buy on vendor something that you hoped to sell them instead?
It is understandable, but I doubt that one time reward will affect AP business much.

I remember, some people blamed huge motiffs and companion gear drop during events, because it killed their trading style. Well, that was serious, because those niches were way more sensitive due to one-time type of stuff. That market was easy saturable.
AP market is way more stable. Honestly, I think Glory and Guild event and the following Whitestrake affect it way more than one time reward injection.

Frankly I don't think it takes that long even if you don't know what you're doing. All of my characters that I wanted Barrier and Caltrops on have it, and I am not good at PvP. I'm honestly pretty bad at it. It really doesn't take that long to grind out.

I just picked up 50k AP in 30 minutes of solo healing randos in Ravenwatch.

I'm certain it takes me longer than an hour to make 100k gold, which I'm sure has been given away in previous months.

As others have said, pocket change and all that in the grand scheme of things, and lets PvE'rs get those Alliance skills a little bit easier.

I work my tail off for my AP, but I have no issues with this. In fact, I'm quite pleased by it.

Besides, 100k is going to be a small, very small, drop in a very large pool once Whitestrakes Mayhem starts (which I believe they said was this month, in fact.) some PVE players even come to Cyro to farm AP during Whitestrakes. I don't see the issue in letting them have access to 100k extra.

As someone else in the thread said, its a nice gift to those who don't like PVP, or who don't have enough time to PVP.

It's the 10th anniversary of the game, for the love of Pelinal. I have the feeling the reward calendars have been generous for a reason. Lets just enjoy the good spirited nature of what ZOS is doing, yeah? Its a once in a while kind of thing. Its hurting nothing.
