The first thing I'm doing when Gold Road comes out

I'm going to start at the northern most spot of Eastmarch, run all the way down to Blackwood, and from there will make my way to the eastern most coast of Glennumbra.

My goal is to run through as many zones as possible without having to backtrack through the same zone.

What is the first thing you want to do when Gold Road comes out?

I always get the fishing achievement first with new content that has fishing. I get to explore the zone and enjoy the scenery. After things have calmed down some I go back and do the quests.

Is it possible to do this? That sounds like a fun adventure!

Can you even get into Blackwood from Shadowfen? I haven't actually tried, but I thought I saw some complaints recently about Blackwood not having a road to Shadowfen or some other neighboring zone.

You can definitely get into Shadowfen from Blackwood, I assume the connection isn't just one-way.

Based on the zones the new chapter will connect with, from the Gold Road, we should be able to walk to Craglorn, Gold Coast, and Reaper's March. You might even be able to go from Malabal Tor to the West Weald (the new zone introduced with the Gold Road), and with that in place, that means, I should be able to walk between all the alliances.

      That's what I do...

Before anything else, I go through the zone and unlock all the wayshrines.

      It's two-way.

I'm going to go straight to the dawnwoods. I've been dying for bosmeri content since wrothgar. It's only 1/3 of a zone and involves a renegade band of wood elves and its the first thing I'm exploring.

For the love of the green and yfrres chosen children I want a new bosmer house and furniture. Please please please omg please.

I really like the idea of strolling into the zone from Gold Coast or something, have a nice immersive introduction.

After that, probably get wayshrines and skyshards.

I’m still trying to decide which character will be my first scriber, but that char will be riding as fast as they can to the quest giver for scribing and unlock it to see what we can do! Ithelia can wait!

My partner and I have a tradition of entering a new zone through one of the gates (wherever its possible to do so). We'll wait for each other to be available, so that we can do it together, as always. Probably start in Anvil because the Gold Coast zone is beautiful, and go through the Colovian Estates gate.

10 years in, and its finally possible! I'll probably do something like this soon after, too!

Also explore. Where's Sutch? Can we see Hammerfell? Elsweyr? Cyrodiil? Where in Craglorn will the gate open??

      Pretty excited.

Back from Oblivion days, Skingrad/Gold Coast/Colovia areas were some of my favorite places to spend time. I really enjoyed hanging out in those places. Lots of hunting, ruins, interesting stuff you can kind of get lost in.

I kind of want to do that too going the opposite way. Also don't think I'll mind back tracking zones so long as I pass each gate/road once.

OK, I thought maybe I had missed hearing about some kind of special reward with the new chapter for walking the route - sounds like you're planning it just for the fun of it - understood :)

Yes, my plan is very much just for fun. Really what I actually want to do is to run around the whole coast of Tamriel, but that will have to wait.
