endless archive run ending abruptly without dying

We were fighting the marauder in arc 4, doing fine, then suddenly the marauder got sucked underground, disappeared. Then we were sucked underground and sent back outside the arena to the start point. Our threads were ended, the run was over!!?

Has anyone else seen this? Is this a bug or some unknown mechanic?

This is almost, but not quite as bad as crashing in the archive, being booted from the game, coming back and the run is ended.

I've had this happen once during Arc 3. Don't really remember the circumstances surrounding it, though.

Had this happen on PTS when I was unprepared for the maurader and was kiting it around a lot. I assumed it was a DPS check mechanic to prevent things like running a block tank with really low passive DPS from sets. Maybe not though.

I've just had this happen to me.
I was on Arc 4, Cycle 3, Stage 2, the furthest I've ever gotten after spending a bunch of fortunes on mystery verses.
Then, in the middle of the stage, without dying, I get pulled back to the entrance area with my run ended.
Completely butchered my motivation to try and get Inkslayer, if I can just lose all my progress any time for no reason.

Do you have a picture of what arena it was? There is a particular arena that has a funky teleport mechanic, and it can be buggy IMHO. I've been sucked through the floor and lost my verse for the round a few times.

That is with a buddy, I haven't encountered that map solo.

Nope, I couldn't go back into the arena to take a screenshot, since my run had already ended. The run ended in an area with a long walkway on the right hand side of where I teleported in if that means anything to you. There was a wall of books to the right of the walkway, and a large drop to the left.

It could be? I'll try and get a picture next time I go in.

I just had a similar thing happening. I was hiding behind a pillar so the mobs would come to me to better be able to AOE them down, then they suddenly dissapeared and i lost one thread as if i had died.

I was just standing there with 3 questionmarks over my head.
