Endless archive container reset: intended or exploit?

I discovered by accident that when you port out of your endless archive stage before aggroing that all the containers in the room reset (I missclicked the portal to the base). To test I looted everything, went out and back in again: everything was reset again. Is this intended, or is it an exploit and should I report in-game?
Idk about cooldown timer on patterns and so, but I got multiple Necrom patterns which are at the moment still worth some gold. The room was one with 30+ containers so it was quite easy to get a sample in re-entering twice, but still..

For example, you can port into the lobby of Aetherian Archive. Loot the containers. Port out. Port back in.
