Near constant game crashes since Necrom release

Has anyone else experienced this? Before Necrom released, my game would only crash every once in a while if at a dolmen with a huge crowd of players.

Since Necrom, however, the crashes have been fairly constant, and tonight I haven't been able to play. Crashed four times just leaving Elden Root, crashed the fifth time after excavating an antiquity just outside the Root. Gave up after that. I always submit the reports, but there doesn't seem to be any action taken.

I do not have Necrom but I do have everything else including ESO+. On two accounts. This is becoming tiresome.

Platform and server? I'm not having issues on PC NA or PC EU.

Worst offenders are Reshade and/or Daybreak. But like the person above me said, we don’t now which platform you’re having issues with.

Huh. Seriously, I have no issues at all on PC NA or EU. Maybe check with your ISP to see if there's an issue on their end?

Caveat: I'm on HughesNet satellite, so my routing is nowhere "normal" for people with "real broadband". Even a week or so back when everyone was having issues with the DDOS or whatever, I was able to log in and play normally.

I guess satellite has some benefits after all....

Google Fiber - and no trouble with anything else.

Oh well, guess I am the only one. Thanks.

God, I'd KILL for goog fiber. *sigh* Yeah. I love where I live, but connection sucks.

Hmm. Have you tried repairing your files? Sometimes that can be an issue....

    Greetings,

After further review we have decided to move this thread to a category we think is more appropriate for this topic, as it's about PC troubleshooting.

    Thank you for your understanding

You did not specify, so assuming you are crashing to desktop: Try turning off AA in the graphic settings, and see if that helps. Can lower or turn off any of the other graphic settings too, to see if that helps. Test this one by one, to see what may be causing your issues.

My best guess is AA is the issue.

PS: If you are using add-ons, disable those. Maybe one of them is the issue.
PPS: This is not a connection issue, with a connection issue you would be booted to the login screen.

I did lower some settings last night - but it didn't seem to help. I'll try the tip on AA tonight. It's about the only thing left besides a full reinstall.

There doesn't seem to be an error message other than "ESO has stopped working" (and a crash report) then crash to desktop launcher upon hitting submit. Generally I can log back in though recently there's cropped up an error that says (paraphrased) 'sorry something has gone wrong' and refuses login. That 'error' is always during login after this mysterious game stop working issue. Usually after hitting Ok a couple times, everything goes through. Rarely there is a "fatal error" about something having been removed (that one, I know, is graphics and on my end). Both game stopping and fatal error simply crash to desktop launcher.

Last time a "repair" was needed - after a chapter release, I might add - the repair took days as it itself kept crashing.

Many thanks to those of you who've tried to help. I appreciate it!

It's not just you. I've been disconnecting very frequently since Necrom released as well. Also PC NA. I'm getting the white report screen with my disconnects.

Our help article below has troubleshooting to assist with ESO crashing.

What do I do if ESO is crashing with the error "ESO has stopped working"?

If the repair process is also crashing, I'd check the hardware. Over-heating, inadequate space on your drive, corrupt or defective (e.g. beta) drivers, failing components, all worth checking. Problems are often introduced by game updates (not just ESO but generally), and it can be because the update has introduced something that is testing borderline systems.

If you crash(or disconnect), keep in mind it takes a few minutes(3-5) for the server to notice your connection dropped. During that time you will get various error messages when trying to log in again, as you are technically still logged in.

If you have an SSD, after closing any program wait atleast 10 seconds before doing a reboot or shutdown of your computer. Files may seem corrupted to the ESO installation and ask for a repair, if the SSD is still moving files around while you shutdown/reboot your computer. Normally playing ESO will fix this over time, if you keep doing the 10 second rule. Note: The files only seem corrupted, they aren't actually corrupted. Running ESO more often will allow the SSD to finish transferring the files over time, and should solve your error after a few days. (if this is your issue) (actually had this issue myself)

Also make sure there is no anti-virus locking/removing ESO files for possible virusses. This may make your installation seem corrupt.

As someone above has already stated, if running a repair isn't even functioning well, there could also be a hardware failure. Try re-downloading and installing ESO on another drive if possible.
