After two disappointing Addons and me almost leaving the game, I gave Necrom and ESO a last try. And so far, I am positively suprised.
Most important, I dont feel like I forgot my brain in Coldharbour, the dialogues are much better than in Blackwood (BW) and High Isle (HI), although there is stil room for improvement. The Story (I am half way through) and sidequests feel more mature and complex. Compared to BW and HI I want to know, what will come next and I really listen to all dialogues. The world and graphics are, as usual, very atmospheric. Voice acting is good, so far I met no annoying NPC and the voices fit the characters very well.
What I think still can be improved is a bit more variety in the answers we can give, e.g. many quests start like this:
NPC: "will you help me with XY?"
Vestige: "I will help you with XY"
Instead of just repeating what the NPC asks us to do, different answers would be nice. these could be (and some already are):
- a simple "OK, lets do it" or "good, let's find out what happened"
- depending on the quest giver and situation "I will help you, but remember you promised me a reward"
- In case the NPC will go with us but wont fight "I will help you, but better stay behind me"
Or any other variation, that may fit.
In Summary, Necrom is a good Addon and I hope it is just the first step on the road the game will take with the next addons.
