After playing Baldur's Gate 3 (absolutely incredible for anyone who hasn't played yet!), I've been going around reading all the books I can find, exploring every dialogue option and trying to engage with the companion system more - trying to really draw out the RPG element of the MMO-RPG that we play! I've never really done this and I've always played ESO similar to WoW (I know . . .big mistake!) where I skip through dialogue and just get to the meat of the combat ASAP! Well that has changed and I'm really loving it and appreciating all the work the devs have put into the books, side quests, conversations, etc. :)

A few things on my wish list for future story telling:
- The ability to utilize more than 1 companion at a time - how cool would this be to have Azandar AND Sharp interacting. What if they implemented a way to queue up for dungeons too where you utilize a mixture of players and companions OR 3 of your unlocked companions (i.e. Isobel as a healer, Bastian as a tank and Azandar as DPS for instance). This would allow for you to engage in the actual story of dungeons and play at your own pace should they continue placing key story elements in the dungeons! :) (side note: I love how Azandar actually comments freely on parts of the story as you play through it if you have him out; never noticed that with previous expansions/companions? Could've been a thing and I was oblivious lol)
- More dialogue options - it seems (at least for Necrom) that many dialogue options are centered around going back over what we've learned so far OR just pretending that the player has no idea who these people/princes/etc are. I'd love for options in dialogue linked to our race, our class, etc.

That is all! Happy Friday ESO fam!! :D

Glad you're enjoying the rp elements. Another way to enjoy when doing zone stories is to do it in first person mode rather than third person. It makes it really immersive, next level.

Glad to see you made this amazing discovery. Going through content the first time, I too listen to all the dialogue and check all dialogue options. And when there are multiple choices for a quest, I try a different option on another character. This makes the game a much more immersive experience.

Even though I do not read the books, I do read all the random notes I encounter.

    About your ideas:
1: I would love being able to use multiple companions at the same time, including an option to solo queue for dungeons with three companions.
2: Yeah, much of the lore/dialogue will always be a rehash of what we know already, this is because new players and players unfamiliar with elder scrolls could start out at that spot. Personally I don't really mind this, as there are soooo many quests in this game that there is always new quest content to listen to. (Even after all these years I sometimes still find things/dialogue I missed)

People often forget that there is no rush in MMO's. Rushing just makes you miss out on many things.

PS: Used to play WoW and a few other MMO's also. ESO is just much much better. (Despite all my complaining about certain things.)

There is a great difference of ESO. It is MMO.
Here you can make a group with other players and have so much interacting between them... sometimes more that you wish :)
Have your party members in that another game tried to kick each other from group for playing wrong class or build?
Have they dueled with each other, then again and didn't stop even when you asked them?
Have they promised to report each other so their characters will be banned and asked you to do a report too?
As for their dialogs... you'll never see such a poetry of live arguing in those boring scripted talks. Only in MMO your group mate will ask you "What are you wearing" with no dirty ideas but for blaming your damage only.
You can meet those roleplayers today. Don't miss it. No any Gates could offer you such a fun even if they are very Baldur's :)

It's acknowledged by ZOS to be more of a hybrid MMORPG than a traditional MMO. BG3 can of course be played with other players.

Thank you for correction. I guess, hybrid nature of ESO is one of a few factors keeping me in the game.

As for multiplayer in Gates, it is very different. For instance, host is a king there.
No comparison with hosting group in ESO. Kicking from group won't stop the duel of group mates for example :)
Didn't mention the random grouping with limited permissions for leader which has no place in Gates.

TES books are fantastic. The sheer volume of lore and diversity of topics can quickly lead to a rabbit hole of reading. IMO, the books and "secondhand" approach that TES takes with its lore is what makes TES so interesting.

Yea I agree! I never took interest in this in ESO really until I started doing it in BG3. Now I’m picking up allll the books I see and reading every little thing. All the little things like that are pretty incredible!
