Hi, is there any confirmation yet if the upcoming DLC will have a price of 2000 kroner and will count as a story DLC or will it cost 1500 kroner like a dungeon DLC?
I would be very happy about an answer.

I think it's part of the Q4 base game update.

That is to say, it should be free. I could be wrong though.

It makes no sense to be a free update if we're honest. I agree that it should be free and be part of the base game, but I find it hard to imagine that ZOS is deliberately passing on a paid DLC which could make them money to give us something for free. Remember, with the lack of a dungeon DLC in Q3 they already have one quarter where they didn't offer a paid DLC. And Q4 the same? Highly doubt it, that way that would have reduced the monetizable quarters from usually 4 to 2 this year.

I assume it will be included with ESO+. Certainly not interested in buying it seperately.

I guess that Q4 DLC can repeat the path of Deadlands and Firesong.
Actually it is very good and effective selling model for minor DLC.
    • Tell players that new Chapter owners will obtain new DLC for free. Those, who've already bought it are happy
    • Organize an event inside the new Chapter. Those who bought it early and just now are excited.
    • Remind everybody that they should buy the Chapter before the event ends to get new DLC for free. Omg, time is limited. You know that feeling.
    • Make a discount on the Chapter. See how people pay real money to get free DLC.

So a minor DLC can help a lot with selling the Chapter for money, not for crowns. Also it sells the Chapter in a planned perion of time, which is very good for company.
Aand this DLC will bring crown sells after the event anyway, because many players haven't got it yet.

I don't think it is bad. It is clever and it works. People on both sides get what they want.
I bought at least one chapter this way.

The initial reports were that this would return to the days of the 40+ usd price tag for a chapter would include everything for the year. Considering they have been putting the current chapter on a half off sale with an incentive for free Q4 content for the last two releases, it makes perfect sense to cut out the middleman and just include all of it.

systems aren't DLC updates, there's only 1 DLC a year now. this will be part of the Necrom chapter, however so you will need to own Necrom.

Just like every single year - a Q4 DLC is not a chapter so if you have ESO plus, it will be free. We can only assume if you do NOT have ESO plus that it will be something you have to purchase UNLESS they specifically say it’s part of a base game update in which case it would be free since we have all purchased the base game.

it's a dlc, only the q2 update in this year being update 38 is related to the chapter.

the dlc entrance could be in one of the chapter zones, but we don't know that yet.

There is a fairly consistent track record of Q4 dlc being given away for free with daily login rewards in the past few years. I think they've given away 2 or 3 and skipped a couple?

No, only Murkmire was a login reward. The last two were rewards in the chapter promotion "community challenge", though. This meant people who had bought the chapter and who had participated in the event (and didn't forget to claim the reward from the crown store in time) got the q4 DLC without having to pay for it.

If it's an Endless grind with really bad loot what is the motivation?

One of the devs slipped a while back and mentioned class specific set, possibly from the endless dungeon.

Maybe they gonna sell it like a new chapter, I would buy the endless dungeon content every day over a boring necrom chapter even tho i havent seen the dungeon yet lol

If they do the dungeon great im moving in there and my characters wont see day Light for a few hundred hours 🙃

I'll be glad if that's the case, because I prefer just being able to buy the whole expansion and getting all the content with it like I do with WoW.

It was always just weird to me how I'd have to pay for a collection (when missing out on previous expansions), and still not get any DLC or dungeon content and be expected to pay £60+, when I could just pay £40-50 for WoW and get the entire expansion's content along with it (including actual bag space, like the new expansion ended up doing with their inventory rework, big hint Zenimax, big hint).

I just think it'll be easier for newcomers if they could just buy the expansion or each expansion and get the whole kit with it (save for ESO+, but offering a month of ESO+ with it would certainly sweeten the deal, imo).

Even if they decide to give it away as a reward for something... either as a Daily Reward or as a reward for a certain communal Necrom related activity, it will probably be 1500 to 2000 Crowns in the Crown Store.

Come on, ZOS' non-answer to this (as of now) basically implies that this doesn't come for free but with a price tag - maybe even different bundles or versions.

This is probably a directive from Marketing to "build the suspense "

Personally I'll never finish all the content that is avalible...so new stuff to me is just meh...

To me it sounded like it was an area or something you visited in one of the Necrom areas. although with the duo content I really hope they consider giving a queue to it for people who don't want to go at it solo but whose friends play at weird times, assuming they even have friends. (i might be last one of my friend group still playing T_T)

No, not really. Closer to an arena, with waves of enemies to clear before moving to the next room, with bosses every so often.

This somewhat worries me. The various dungeons are fun, but the mobs stationed every few feet doing nothing bug me after a while. There is often no reason for them to be there, so they must be standing there simply because the designer needed to put something in the way of the player. I appreciate the effort when the mob is leaning against a beam, or digging in some loot, but that only works in places where they don't have an army of mobs just milling around at every corner.

It all reminds me of a table top RPG adventure designer that had a seminar at GenCon related to "Dragon in a bottle". My take away from the session was that monsters in a dungeon should be there for a reason. Putting a dragon in a dungeon just to put something in the dungeon to kill was not good design. There needed to be a reason for that dragon to be there at the moment that the players arrived, and outside of that, the dragon would be going about a normal dragon life, leaving and returning as desired.

So, my expectation is that these dungeons will be challenging, very boring, and designed simply to be a foil for the player. If the "endless dungeon" is just "throw random mobs until player dies" then they might as well just introduce a "Watch Paint Dry" skill line and let us level that up.
