Can't reassign champion points?

Tried both a Google search and a forum search to no avail.

I am on PS5 NA and have had no issues in the past with hitting L2 to remove points in a champion tree skill or R2 to assign points in the same.

This morning, I wanted to rework my Arcanist and was able to take points out of skills I no longer wanted in the green tree and reassigned them to those I did. Pressed square to confirm everything. All was well.

Went on to the blue tree and, suddenly, L2 and R2 for removing/assigning points was greyed out on everything. After clicking several times trying to remove points, my PS5 crashed back to desktop with an error message. I reloaded the game, tried again, crashed again to desktop with a Sony error message.

On my third attempt, I stopped trying to remove points and simply assigned what points I had unassigned and that was successful. But it's rather vexing because now I have wasted points in the blue and red trees that I now cannot remove and reassign to new skills. They are trapped forever and I just have to earn way more CP points now, I guess, to continue assigning points.

Any ideas what's wrong here? Anyone else encountered this? I realize this will likely get moved to the Bug Reports forum where nobody will see or help, so I am trying here first. And I'd rather not submit a support ticket, if possible, for fear things will just get more mucked up.

Try clearing your save file on the playstation and then running the game again. You may need to put your setting in again as I think those are saved in the file rather than the server. Its usually the first thing I try when something messes up on eso on my ps

Hold triangle lets you reset points, some of them or a full wipe, for 3000 gold. On PC (possibly all platforms) there is a random auto fill bug where if you move from one tree to to another going left or right. Sometimes it'll fill all at once or a fast incremental fill. I'm over 2000 and it was fun watching it auto fill my excess points for me, it particularly likes to put points in the tanking stars. 50 points spent on their own each time I change tree.

Ah-ha, it was user error on my part! I had held down triangle to redistribute points, did my green tree, then locked it in… not realizing doing so stops reassigning the other trees. I have now held triangle to redistribute all again and it’s letting me do the blue tree now.

You have to do ALL your reassigning at once before confirming the changes. Thanks for the mention about redistributing all, it made me realize after I confirmed the green changes that the game thought I was 100% done. Oops.

You can see how often I change builds/reassign points. LOL
