Shot up into the sky and now unable to do anything

I was in the mission where you have to kill the captain that was trying to assassinate Queen Ayrenn. As soon as the captains guards started attacking me, my character shot up into the sky and now is stuck there in a constant falling animation. I cant move the camera, walk, attack, etc. My character is just constantly screaming and falling.

The /stuck and /reloadUI commands do nothing. When I try to log out it says that I can't because I'm still in combat, and when I force quit the game I get a message saying that I will stay logged into the server because I cant log out during combat.

I've emailed support, and they replied to use /stuck, even though I said I've tried and it doesn't work in my original message (some great reading comprehension there) and I've been waiting for chat help for the last hour, but have had no response.

If anyone knows how to get out of this, I would be forever grateful.

That didn't work either. Thanks for the suggestion though.

I guess I'll just play on my alt until there's a solution.

This problem happened to me once, and to my partner 3 times yesterday. You appear to be very high in the sky, and the N/S/E/W compass points are all close to each other.

After encountering this problem, if we logged out to character select and logged back in, then the game would be very laggy and have a very low frame rate.

To fix that problem, we had to quit the game completely and restart it.

Similar 'thing' happened to me (i was seemingly thousands of feet high above in the blue sky AIR , over the Stonewalls/Bal Foyel map) and literally nothing worked...except finally *this* :

    1) Opened up the Map and tried fast-travel to a nearby Wayshrine

    2) waited about 10 seconds, as nothing happened except for a brief load-screen which took me right back to same stuck spot in the air

    3) Since i was grouped at the time (as group Leader) , i opened up the Group tab (i'm sure Friends List or Guild Roster tabs would work too) and right-clicked my buddy's toon and chose 'TRAVEL TO' them

    4) this time, a more immediate load-screen appeared...and then...after about five seconds: bam! i was back on the ground like normal!!

No clue if any of this was helpful to anyone else but figured i'd post it [here and in other related threads] just in case.

    Best of luck everyone! ...

Yes, this bug happens. You only see sky, but in reality your are still where you stand (seen by others), but it looks like you were launched sky high. There are a few amusing videos with this.

Tips for devs : I believe it happens when jumping on the edge of some graphics. It is too chaotic to pinpoint the exact cause from my viewpoint, but it seems to happen after a jump.

Work-a-round (so-to-speak) : looks like you must relog twice. The first time you relog, you will appear falling under the world (ironic n'est-ce pas after seeing the sky). Relog again, and it might work. If not, you must use the command /stuck which will kill you; at this point it should port you successfully to the nearest Wayshrine.

Nb : when I do this, I can feel a lot of lag, so I end-up relogging again.

My work-a-round is an attempt at not damaging my gear from needless death (i.e. /stuck kills you).

OK I've tried all of the below but I'm still stuck i-
    1. /stuck - died and resurrected up in the sky
    2. fast travel to wayshrine - took my money but still in same place in the sky and showing as "in" Taleon's Crag where this all began
    3. was not in group so couldn't try that one
    4. relog twice nope still up in the air
    5. swapped to alt and back, still there
    6. If I try in game reporting I get the logged out with the spam error message
    7. Trying email report got standard "use /stuck" advice.

Not good enough I've just spent hours leveling to effectively lose my main character, plus lots of gold because cost of repairs as a result of using stuck command etc.

If I get a proper response to my second ticket I'll post here, meanwhile if anyone else has any ideas please let me know. Thanks, in anguish.

    OK this seems to work
    1. Unequip all you items
    2. use /respawn repeatedly until you hit the ground (you will be logged out a couple of times for spamming as apparently screaming is somehow logged as a chat post?????

    Thanks to all who helped

Had a similar situation where i was tossed up into the sky and got stuck there, relogging had me falling through the world to my death before being placed at a wayshrine.

Reading all these posts...well, happened to me also.
got no solution to this...except...the ESO Crew needs to
get at it. There has to be a solution...I hope.

This happened twice to me tonight on my Pact character. It's still going on. I hit the space bar and instantly I was in the sky... even though I was in interior cells both times.

I was able to transport to friend using the contacts list, but that was my only option.
