Looking for official feedback on the scaling of lightning heavy attack splash damage in IC

Greetings

As title, looking for official commentary on the scaling of the tri-focus destro passive in pvX environments.

As it currently stands, radiant damage from lightning heavies isn't affected by battle spirit if the original target is a mob. Players in the vicinity of any mob/boss being heavy attacked take damage at 100% of the original hit, meaning players are receiving flat damage scaled for PVE and often inclusive of the pve-only Empower buff. During this event we're seeing scores of players sitting in spawn and unreachable while heavy-attacking bosses, dealing splash damage that is often a one-shot with no available option for counter-play. 20k+ tri focus in recaps is exceedingly common, particularly in the memorial district where DC players don't have to drop to heavy attack the boss as it spawns.

I'm looking for clarification on whether or not this is an intended application of this mechanic.

    I don't see anything wrong with this because -
    1. In IC when there are 30 enemies going boss to boss leaving nothing alive for me, the HA helps me killing some of them. Unless I wait for hours when my faction pop goes up but then why not just make separate IC Camps for different factions? Not logical right?
    2. How I am supposed to even attack the boss with large enemies groups on boss with 3-4 tanks on it who just stand and block. How do I kill them? Unless I have a Harry potter spell but sadge this is not Hogwarts.
    3. Why we dont raise these when players use it to clear arenas or even trials where they can be just OP DPS.

    I think PvP areas people just get salty when they die to HA. But no complains when they stack adds in arenas and use same build.

    Just my thoughts not intended to upset anyone.

    In Short, Remove the tanks from PvP, remove the OP damage from HA or even all procs just scale attributes. Then remove the HA from IC.

    1 and 2: You bomb them or you don't do anything. You aren't supposed to solo 30 enemies or 4 tanks.

    20K is on the lower end of the scale.
    When fully buffed, in full gold, wearing the correct sets players can reach 75k on recap.
    Clearly this is not intended.

    As for anyone saying it's impossible for them to do anything with 30-40 players on a boss without the HA build doing clear pve dmg in PvP, the answer is very simple.
    Walk away. Go somewhere else.

    You're not supposed to fight 30 players at once. The people you see doing so, 9/10 times are being chased by pve players doing PvP in their pve gear.

    The OP was not saying you can't do this in PVE, the OP is saying that the PVE damage to the "boss" is doing PVE damage in sums of 20k ticks to PVP players.

    Do not be alarmed if you love PVE, but for PVP why the heck they taking PVE damage without battle spirit scaling??

    This has been going on for months, would be nice to have Empower not work in PVP environments. Even if they are PVE mobs, it's silly that empower can still be active in pvp land

    it has nothing to do with nerfing HA

    its a legitimate pvp related bug because the dmg from trifocus is doing 2 things:
    1. ignoring battle spirit (in order to get a 8-10k dmg hit, you would need a tooltip showing about 75% higher than that to account for mitigations AND get a crit)
    2. empower is supposed to only apply to monsters, and with the next patch some of the HA bonuses are also supposed to apply only to monsters, and the trifocus passive is kind of indirectly applying those bonuses to players when it should only apply to monsters

    Honestly, just set Empower to not work when Battle Spirit is active, and auto apply battle spirit when entering any PVP zone. This really shouldn't be a thing for PVP play.

    battle spirit is already applied in every pvp situation (IC, cyro, BG, duels)

    making empower and HA sets only work when battle spirit is not active would be an easy way to prevent the issue though

    I thought there were times when it wasn't. I may be thinking about some odd bug though. I know I've had it not be active when inside Cyro delves for instance, only to pop when I got back into Cyro.

    Just to confirm, thread is about pve-scaled HA applying to players. I don't have an opinion on nerfing/not nerfing HA's in general.
