Persuade Passives to use them or not to not miss story which is quite fun

I already met a NPC keeping the info about him secret. If I had the Fighter skill Intimidate or the Mage Persuade, I thought I can get better story out of game that is hidden. I thought to put points there instead of combat skills for that reason. I could get combat skills later. What do you think? Missing story is more important to me.

I could do fetch quests, because I haven't done them before, and I don't want to miss story.

Would these skills get me more story out of the game or cause me to lose story?

I say you loose some fetch or kill missions and perhaps some line of dialogue.
Nothing memorable I say, done all base zone quests as in Cadwell gold again last year and did not notice much difference selecting not to use it.
But if you doing an fun quest I would not use it
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

There are a few instances where being persuasive or intimidating can be useful, so it's a good idea to get those passives if you have enough skill points and are leveled up enough.

But as far as doing quests, those passives are primarily for shortening a quest by letting you skip certain steps, so if you want to do every little part of a quest then you'll generally want to avoid using persuasion or intimidation even if you do have them.

I generally avoid Persuade/Intimate my first time through a quest. They are usually a shortcut to skip part of the quest chain. Like you can intimate someone to immediately tell you where the villain was last seen, or you can do a side quest for them and after completion they will tell you where the villain was last seen. But if I am doing the quest for a second or third time on a different character, I will Persuade/Intimate because I am interested in just moving it along as quickly as possible. Honestly, the extra quest steps you get from not doing Persuade/Intimate are rarely compelling or add to the story. They are usually quick, simple, forgettable fetch quests.

I always get amused by the difference between the Mages Guild Persuasion option, which is something like “please tell me what I can do to help you” and the Fighters Guild option which is “if you don’t tell me what I want I’m going to beat the crap out of you.” Not kidding here at all, that is they way it really is.
