Ability to report someone directly from text chat

There seems to be an influx of people selling gold with real money in zone chat. Directing people to their website and they spam the same message over and over.

The process of reporting someone in this game is long-winded and annoying so most people will choose to just ignore these messages. If you added a report option when you click someone’s message, perhaps these can be stamped out quicker

Edit: I’m on console. No idea how it works on PC

I would love this. It would also be a great way to quick report varying things.

I remember there used to be a message that said something along the lines of "if you falsely report someone then action will be taken on your account" heavily dissuaded me from reporting bad players and bots.

I agree that there should be a way to report someone directly from the text chat. The bots use underscores and special characters to make themselves difficult to report. And it's also very inconvenient to have to remember the name exactly how it's spelled. You don't want to accidentally report someone else either. If they allowed us to report directly in the text box, it could also capture the time stamp and exactly what was being reported. So, the developers could make better calls as to whether or not something was in violation of the TOS.

There are so many upsides to allowing us to report these gold sellers directly in the chat. It's kind of wild that isn't an option, when you think about it.

Pretty sure there used to be a way to report someone directly from text chat, but that option seems to have been removed at some point.

Sounds great to me. I find it cumbersome often to even directly add someone to ignore from group window, etc. I did not used to care but I have had a few people say to me after random normals lately "death to heavy attack users" and "death to oakenchads" to me and I'm a little bit at a loss why it is difficult to add hateful peoples to ignore--> easily. If it is cumbersome to even add death threat people to my ignore list, I am certainly confused as to why reporting in the scenario you are speaking of should be a project.

I have never seen such messages in a PC chat. If I need gold for currency, then I will buy crowns and sell them for gold. If there are legitimate ways, then why do they break the rules?

For the first time in 3 years of playing I went to report a player and I couldn’t even figure out how and gave up. The only way I even thought I could report someone was because I’ve seen people talk about it, but I still have no idea how 🤷🏻‍♂️

PC has that option, right click on name. Actually saw a gold seller on Vvardenfell today, at least three people besides me reported him rightaway.

On console these folks spam their messages out of sight so that you can't click on them and report them. I've tried to party up with them before but apparently they're smart enough not to join.
