Necrom: big price difference between ESO store and Steam?

uberheim
uberheim
On Steam Necrom Upgrade is listed as $24.99, but on the ESO store itself the same upgrade costs €39.99.

Why is there such a big difference?

Does steam not list in anything but USD? I don't know what the exchange rate is from USD to Euros.

Is there a significant tax/fee difference between Europe and the US?

Could have been an error. I just checked the prices and they don't match your screenshots (I did check the price in usd however)

I paid £33.99 in the UK for the basic Necrom upgrade from the ESO Store, and I just checked the price on Steam and it's the exact same price.

Generally it is more expensive for me on Steam because they are required to pay GST taxes, and it is included in the final price.

Thanks! I have to dig so far down through my banks' sites it takes about 20 minutes to find the info. *shakes head* And we don't have a newspaper available here (which when I lived in a city was where I got info like that, from the financial section).

Hmm. Y'know, there is probably a dedicated site out there for exchange rates. Have to go look now.....

for me from eso page and steam it is 39.99 euro, price is with tax included.
if i remember correctly US prices are without tax and it is been added at the payment (i'm just presuming site itself is detecting from where is open and shows price as it is for that country)

The reason OP is seeing difference is most likely because steam has regional prices.

All I have to do in the UK is google "pound to dollar", "euro to dollar" etc.

Your steam is localized in another region, which explains lower prices overall. The same happens to me, and I will never let that go

The lowest price in USD for Necrom is 39.99. It is the same on the ESO website as it is on Steam.

and judging from the graph above I would suggest OP was looking at the Commonwealth of Independent States or South Asia pricing.
