I have so many of these that I usually just vendor them once I get to around a couple of thousand in my bank (each of my 14 toons has a stack of 200 in their inventory). I didn't realise people actually sell/buy them on guild traders.

i have nearly 100 of the crown repair kits from daily logins, which 1 of those repairs all equipped gear

Usually carry a stack in inventory but probably repair at npc more often than use them because I forget about them. Otherwise give away or sell.

I have loads of crown ones from daily rewards (repair all at once). I also have loads of group repair kits from the times I have event tickets to burn. I get a pretty good supply of normal grand repair kits from doing 7 writs a day on one character. I've found that I can run my repair bill up to about 1500 gold before I actually need to repair so I don't have to repair that frequently.

So. . . my characters usually carry a crown repair kit slotted to quick slot for any time pressed surprises. Then once I notice their repair cost climbing about 1000 gold, they grab 7 grand repair kits from the bank and wait until about 1500 gold or something breaks to use them. With practice, I can comfortably use 7 repair kits in only about 30 seconds or less.

I used to just pay vendors to repair my gear, but then I started using the Grand Repair Kits that I get from doing daily crafting writs. I don't repair my armor until at least one piece "breaks," at which point I repair all 7 pieces whether they're broken or just badly worn. I get the kits faster than I use them, so I never run out of them and they are slowly filling up my bank space.

Crown Repair Kits are more convenient to use, and the Group Repair Kits do basically the same thing except for everyone who I happen to be grouped with, but I save those "one kit repairs all" types of kits for situations where speed is more critical.

@_Yulan_, as far as people buying Grand Repair Kits from guild traders, did you know that NPC vendors can sell you an unlimited number of them (one at a time) at a price that never fluctuates? IMO, you should never buy them from a guild trader, unless the price per kit is less than the NPCs charge for them.

Grand repair kits are 420g each from an npc merchant (84k per stack of 200). Guild store (pc-eu) sell them for prices ranging from 3k to 40k. So always - on pc-eu anyway - cheaper buying from guild traders. If someone doesn't give you some from their personal mountain of them, that is.

There is the addon "Auto Recharge"

Besides recharging your weapon (with a Soul Gem) it will also repair your armor items (with the normal repair kit).

There has been over 400 posted for sale in the last half hour on TTC and TTC doesn't come close to seeing everything posted. There will never be a shortage of these things unless ZoS decides to make them no longer drop.

I don't do writs everyday, and repairing gear through NPCs is expensive, so I used to buy some grand repair kits from guild traders (I think I used to buy them at around 40g per kit, whatever the cheapest was). An add-on auto-repairs my gear so I don't even have to think about it these days.

Probably a mix of people buying them to grind XP during the double XP events, we have Jesters and the Jubilee coming and a bunch of people buying them to re list at a higher price to sell to those people planning to grind.

Especially on PC with the "Auto Recharge" add on that auto recharges your weapon and fixes broken armour provided you have the soul gems and repair kits in your inventory you don't have to stop when grinding.

I know when I have gone looking to buy some to top up my stockpile, since I have been having a break from daily writs for the past few months, on PC/NA they are either all sold out or massively overpriced lately.

Yep. The only repair kits I use are the Crown Repair Kits, and the Group Repair Kits that I was forced to buy because I'd otherwise "lose" tickets. But, I mean, they ARE useful, regardless of being grouped or not. And they function like the blue Crown Repair Kits, in that they repair all of your items.

I keep an "emergency" stack of Grand Repair Kits in my bank, which I can access in the field if I need to. But that is rare.
Otherwise, I find them useless because of the single-item function.

Like other people have said there's never going to be a shortage of these because they come from daily crafting writs and can be bought from vendors. Even if someone couldn't get them for some reason they can just pay an NPC to repair.

I keep stacks of either these or the crown ones from login rewards on each character and if I notice them building up in my bank I sell the extras on my guild store (usually around ESO+ free trials because that's when I clean up my bank).

If someone wants to control the market they're welcome to try, but they can't actually limit the supply and demand is competing with other repair options, so it's highly unlikely they'd achieve anything except wasting a lot of gold and inventory space.

Sell for 100g as in people are buying them for 100g each?

That's like saying some people need the Soul Magic line to supply them with soul gems. I just don't believe it. They're awarded like candy. Or crown potions or poisons. There are some commodities that noone should ever need to buy lol.

The only thing that awards them like candy is doing clothing/blacksmithing/woodworking daily writs at the top material level (maybe one or two levels below). If you aren't doing those, they aren't that common. So I'm not surprised some people buy them.

I can't remember the price but I've definitely sold them in my guild stores on PC EU.

Obviously I don't know for sure why the buyers purchased them, but I assume they don't do crafting writs regularly and so don't have a constant supply like crafters do.

If you're on PC, use addons to automatically repair your gear with repair kits whenever you are out of combat (and if the damage level on any piece reaches the threshhold level that you set). Saves you a ton of gold over the long run.

I meant soul gems. They drop like candy from a pinata.

I usually don't even bother with the repair kits. I just repair at a merchant. I have hundreds of them though, maybe I should start using them up.

I just repair pieces with kits when they break. It uses up 1 kit per item repaired no matter how damaged it is, so I don't see the point in doing it more often.

On the rare occasions I'm going to do something difficult I do a quick check beforehand to make sure nothing is about to break in the middle of a fight (and to make sure I've got the right gear on), but otherwise I forget about it until it does break.

Repair kits are cheaper than npc repair even with cp node to lower repair costs.

All seven armor pieces down to ~10% or less cost me ~1800 gold (using cp node with reduced cost)

7 repair kits even at higher than avg prices cost 7 x 150 gold = 1250 gold.

Not only are repair kits more convenient to repair in field without going back to town, they are far cheaper than npc vendor even with cp reduced cost node active. Each repair kit would have to be close to 250-300g each before it was more economical to use vendor.

I've put a stack or two of the kits in the guild bank because there was no way I'd manage to use them all. That still left me with a reserve stack in my bank, plus one or two in a storage coffer and whatever my toons carry (my DK has close to a full stack on him). Other than those, I think I have over 160 crown kits that I sometimes use so to slow their accumulation. I don't understand why someone would hoard them to manipulate the markets when there are other more valuable goods.
