Immediately after watching the Arcanist in play you can tell that the class brings more interesting systems, utilities, and combat than we've come to expect from most classes.
I am extremely excited to play around the combo point system because it would bring a sense of strategy or at least uniqueness rather than the traditional multi dots into spammable that every other class plays as.
This class appears to be a good exploration into the design of the game, but naturally that makes the older classes (particularly original 4) stand out as exceptionally uninteresting and dull by comparison, because in many ways their design is dated.
Animations are old and clunky, spell effects are ancient, and design wise they all feel too similar and indistinct. Can we make a concentrated effort to refresh the older classes now with changes to the yearly schedule? Can Q3 introduce, at least a visual update to these classes? Ideally design refreshes and also generally buffs (in terms of design and use-case) to old classes as well.
