How do I delete my guilds message of the day?

Tried deleting what was there so it was blank but when I do that I cant confirm it as blank.

If I leave anything there everyone gets the pop up every day and I don't want to annoy them (and myself) since I have nothing to tell them.

It automatically gets sent as a notification to all guildies once a day, hence my wanting it gone.

I don't know. But I really want to NOT see a guild MOTD every time I log in. Seriously, I've got three accounts, they all "belong" to BMU (BeamMeUp - teleport; on both PC servers) and I just do NOT want to see the same stuff on every character. Just - ugh.

Yeah yeah - I know some folks took stuff out of the guild bank etc etc. Just please give me a way to not ever see that stuff.

Eh I don't mind my active guilds having them.

But the whole thing about my guild is its silent. Theres no guild chat. No events. Just a guild hall. So this is really counter productive. Had the guild 7 years, guess I accidentally made a motd yesterday when I was messing with the recruitment notice.

I'm on PC and I only get notified when a guild MoTD is changed. Once I go to N and delete the notification, I get no more notifications until it is changed again.

PSN they all pop up at the same time we get the pop up for new log in rewards- like 8pm eastern.

Sometimes the message gets bugged out and it just keeps popping up as new for days on end. I've had that happen on some guilds and not others, not sure what does it.

Yep thats happening on one of my guilds. I tried editing it on tuesday and see if it would fix it, but it doesnt, it still notifies every time i log in

The only time the message of the day appears in my notifications is if its been updated. Other than that its just on the guild page, if you don't want to use it can't you just make it blank and forget about it?

This is not a solution, just a workaround.

I have the same issue as yourself, even though the MotD does not change, on two guilds I get the notification every time I log in a character.

Needless to say it does get old, fast.

For me the addon 'No, Thank You!' made the problem go away.

You can either redirect the MotD notifications to chat or just ignore them altogether.

Of course if you play on console this is no help at all

Yeah, something went buggy recently in one of the patches/maintenance and now every time I log in - and sometimes just zoning - I get MOTD notification pop-ups even when the MOTD didn't change. It's happening consistently with only 2 of the 5 guilds I'm in, though one of them could legitimately be updates since raffles are updated frequently in that one.

But I know 100% for a fact when the other guild's MOTD actually does and does not change because it's MY guild and I'm the only one who updates the MOTD. And yet, here comes that pop-up when it shouldn't.

It may not be your case, but for me, having guilds on both NA and EU servers WITH THE SAME NAME, meant that the Motd had to be identical on each, or I’d get a notification each time I logged in to the other server. The client assumes you only use one or the other and compares the current text to what you last saw for a guild of that name.

My first guild only notifies me when the MOTD changes. My second guild gave me the notification every day even though the message hardly ever changed... I thought they were purposely spamming it to remind people to join activities. I left partly because it was annoying. I wonder if it was not done on purpose, but a bug?

I'm in console so I don't have the option of mods.

I checked and y'all are correct, everytime I log in its sending me notifications for new messages of the day that aren't new, as well as resending them when it sends the log in rewards notification.

This really isnt good enough.
1. I should be able to delete the motd for my guild so I'm not bothering people.
2. A motd should be sent once and once only. Spamming us like this simply results in us blindly deleting them so that guilds that actually have something new to say get ignored.

Put a joke in there instead. At least someone may enjoy getting it until you work out how to delete 🤷‍♂️
