Why do we need trash food and drink in reward containers?

For both tales of tribute, and guild daily rewards, they always reward some garbage food and drink you just have to throw away
why?
that stuff can just be looted from tables in the world.
it's junk
and I don't even want to bother trashing it or selling it much less ever using it.

✭like, crafting mats.. cool, as long as you're in ESO+ it goes in the crafting bag
gear? even if you can't use it or sell it at least you can deconstruct it for mats
potions and poisons... ehh... maybe some noobs can use them but kinda getting close to just being junk there.
food and drink? I think not even noobs will use those, surely they can craft better even as a new player.8 -

I can't imagine a lot of players use the junkfood or junk gear that drops. Which makes it bad rewards.15 -

But agree white food and drink should not be in reward containers of any sort, if they are going to include food and drink it should at the very least match the colour quality indicated by the reward container.11 -

I open up Fezez to sell trash, Giladil to decon all my intricates/other marked decon items, and Ezabi to bank/backpack according to my liking.
Everything is so well automated, trash like this doesn't bother me in the slightest. I don't think I could play on any other platforms because addons just improve the vanilla game too much.1 -

because it's wasted inventory space you have to deal with.

I usually just sell the white food, drink, potions, and poisons. But it's also handy to have some on hand for my alts to use, especially on days when there's a "Consume X drinks" endeavor.

If you dont do it, yeah its a waste, but do i really need to waste a Cameron throne when i que into a base game rdn or doing quests? I do admit I selll them but I see it as a positive, the coffers of tribute already are amazing to me, even on losses you can get plat dust and transmutes.1 -
