Zenithar Event shows some issues that need to be adressed with next week's patch!

With the rise of the latest event we now get Imperial City keys on various tasks on all of our characters. The issue? Those keys are character bound and the keys can only be used in the PVP zone of the Imperial City. I am having loads of keys on my PVE Trial Tank, on a crafter-mule and so on because of this issue. My PVP characters cannot get the keys as the keys are mostly distributed through PVP activities.

My suggestion: Make the keys account-bound instead of character-bound asap. I'd urge you to add it in the 6th of July patch.
It would be a major Quality of Life change that would immediately benefit the whole player base as a whole!

    This. I used all mine last night, about 100 keys or so on 4 toons. I died twice, each time with no telvar. When I was on my pvp toon, I got to kill one AD who tried to gank me coming out of the vault door. That was fun.

    Just go, you don't even have to pay repair costs when you die. They can't take your items.

    I can't think of any good reason to make anything character bound. Everything should always be account bound, at most.

    Quest items should be character bound, as making them account bound makes zero sense for characters who have yet to accept or complete the quest. Things like disguises, quest starters and such that need to be in your inventory as part of a quest or activated to start a quest.

    Level up rewards should also stay character bound, as they are specific milestones for reaching certain character levels, and anything of consequence, such as costumes, that come from leveling are already account bound.

    I think that rewards from events should be account bound, but that keys obtained through normal PVP gameplay should be character bound. Remove key fragments from the IC dungeons and move those vaults into the PVP zone proper to keep them as an exclusive for those players who focus on PVP.

    Tl;DR Event keys account bound, regular keys character bound, no more vaults in IC group dungeons, make them PVP central.

    This is an account-based game, not a character-based game, so yeah, they should be tied to the account and not even be something stored in inventory.

    On the other hand... So many of them are required, and it is a pain to store them, so why not just junk them?

    they're keys, not key fragments you only need one to have a reason to go

    Cool. Thanks for the update. I never paid any attention to them. They just get deleted. (the ones in the imperial city itself... I suppose I can grab the ones in the dungeons if I come across them.)

    I agree the keys should be changed to account bound, but even if ZOS agrees it's very unlikely to happen in the next patch.

    I think Stadia has an approval process similar to consoles, in which case everything in the patch will already have been submitted for approval and cannot be changed. Even if not it's very likely ZOS have already decided what to include and the work on it is close to being done, I doubt they'd slip in even a small change at the last minute if it's not for a game-breaking bug.

    ZOS does not respond that quickly to change requests. This is something that could be fixed for next year, though.

    I've seen the same thing. I suspect that for whatever reason, keys that come from the gold parcel and ones that come from purple parcels are coded differently and so don't stack.

    It’s a holiday weekend for the US developers. I do not want the developers working, I want them to have some much deserved time off. I can forego this minor QoL improvement a few weeks if it means the developers get a QoL improvement after launching a new chapter.

    dailies.. and other need add boxres for the event .. we need it too be unlimeted and please stop changing it all the time .. keep the game as is .. some people like it as events were once month was good.,. and for one week is fine .. or 3 .. the fac tis seasonal stuff or holidays around wrld could add more content.. the fact we need more content instead the event only does couple things i noticed i did not get anymor eboxed from the event from wrold bosses, wondering if was a bug or was a fact .. they changed to less boxxes too.. i thought that was just for tickets,, meh well i think for use group people we wopuld like more group content including more group world boss and other stuff to be grouped to earn things.. more vxes unlimted ..

    Would be nice if the boxes or their contents could be laundered. I got this research scroll on a character that has all traits unlocked, and I could've sold it or given it to another character.

    Yea, this is an annoyance. My crafter is pvp ready and i did an IC run already with him, so that's not the issue. In fact, all my guys that have keys are pvp ready. But having to go back and forth to (sometimes) the same vault on different characters back and forth and jumping all around is very annoying. We should be able to bank these and move them to one character.

    Agree. Make them account bound, and bankable. There’s no logical reason to have them (or anything) character bound any more.

    Also…… can we get some improved loot from the vaults? It’s been the same-old for ages. One of the sets are worth anything, and the motif is old. Not really worthy of the name “vault”.

    IS kind of a 'theme' with IC stuff.

    Even the consumable to return to base is character bound.

    It only adds to the appeal of IC /s

    Except for lowering your chance of style pages if you go with less than 10,000 telvar you mean.

    And of course inflating the PvP metrics to make it look more like that is a part of the game that should be invested in. rather than ditched. if this wasn't the reeason, they could have put copies of the chests at the Zenithar shrine in Belkarth for people to use the keys. It isn't like ZOS haven been scrapping PvE events (remember when we got the visit all the Points of Interest in the new zone to gert a reward events? Shouldn't we have had one for High Isle? or a rerun of the Murkmire event so people can get the rest of the Gravestake fragments) to keep running Midyear Mayhem to remind people PvP exists.

    And the nervous tension induced by being hunted by other people rather than playing a co-op game. I only have so many spoons. Entering PvP zones costs me spoons.

    I forgot to post this when the PTS notes dropped:

    “The Carved-Bone Key is now like its counterparts in that it is no longer character bound (but still bound to your character), can be banked, and can be laundered.
    Fixed an issue where Imperial City vault keys generated from various sources would not stack.”

    Agreed, because if it were bound to your character then you wouldn't be able to put it in the bank.

    I went after the rewards for the keys the first day. I found the experience frustrating as I really hate IC. I found the stuff in the chests not worth the time. It doesn't appear to have been updated in a while. I am at the point I am vendoring every thing but golden.

    I had keys on 6 different chars 3 of them low level chars used only for crafting.

    I destroyed all keys after the first day.
