Psijic fragments come and go in chests

I have a collection of Psyjic fragments awaiting #VI so that I can make another recipe, which I keep in a storage chest. On more than one occasion they have become inaccessible (invisible) when I open the chest. On the last occasion they sprang into view when I used a char I had not played for some time and have remained visible since.
Once or twice I have looked for other things and not found them, but with the fragments I can be sure they are always there but sometimes hide.
