Best bet is to zoom out as far as you can, on a mouse this is easy, just use the scroll wheel, but on a controller, you need to hold down on the d-pad and tilt the right stick up or down to adjust the zoom.
You can also go into settings> camera> third person. There are settings that will allow you to change the view there. Deltia did a short on this not too long ago, if video is more your style. {EDIT: I guess October is "Not too long ago", LOL. Time flies.}
"I drain the blood of our enemies and fire it into you. It's a lot less messy than it sounds, and yeah I'm basically a Vampire without the whole AGH FIRE BAD"
Zoom out to see the entire fight better. If you need to target something in particular that's being mobbed a by lot of stuff, quickly swap to first person and do what you need to do (taunt or interrupt or whatever) and then switch back to third person.
Tab target the boss and they'll always glow with a white outline. Even if you're not targeting them, or have target glow off, once they're selected they'll always glow. If you're on console I believe it's pressing in the right joystick?

There are quite a number of fights where bosses have some sort of mechanic that makes them lose the highlight repeatedly. For instance The Hadolid Matron, new world boss, loses it when she teleports.
This is why I don't tank. A few days ago a tank dropped a random vet right at the start, I ended tanking, I was like nothing hard, it's not a DLC, you just block heavies... Yeah right, that's it, if you can see the heavy with all the particles.
Look for these settings in your UserSetings.ini file
SET WeaponsOutCameraZoomDistance "XX.XXXXXXXX"
SET WeaponsSheathedCameraZoomDistance "XX.XXXXXXXX"
Set values marked with X on both these lines to 10 and you are able to zoom out the fullest the game allows you to zoom out.
Use these settings for camera positioning (ESC->Settings->Camera);
Field of View: 130
Horizontal position: -7
Horizontal offset: 7
Vertical offset: -60
With these settings when fully zoomed out you will have an optimal view of your surroundings and you will also have your reticle close to your character's head, which of course just makes the most sense.
