Dressing companions

I've just decided to change Embers apparel and when I choose the option in the outfit station to dress and dye her clothes I get the correct menu but cannot see Ember at all rendering the task absolutely pointless. I've just summoned Mirri and managed to do all of the above with viewing her as I adjusted her wardrobe. This companion is bugged when using the outfit station as Ember is not standing where she should be.

Not run into this restarting the game or /reloadui will porbably solve it.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

make sure you set the companion to use the "companion outfit" in the menu, if its set to no outfit it uses the companions default weapons/color schemes

Are you playing with gamepad UI by any chance? Asking because the same thing happened to me, I play with controller and gamepad UI, and when I tried to change Eber's outfit she appeared behind the menu, so I couldn't see her. I had to swap the settings to use keyboard/mouse and then she was visible. It must be a bug because I din't have the same issue with Isobel.

I had the same issue with Ember on gamepad. This patch completely broke my version of betterUI and other gamepad addons. Gamepad life is pretty horrible right now so I'm really, realy, hoping someone with the skills comes up with an addon or fix. I haven't tried customizing Isobel.

On PC using keyboard & mouse. Have been able to change/tweak Ember's outfit and costumes at outfitting station with no problem.
PC NA(no Steam), PvE, mostly solo

Not sure what other gamepad addon you're using, but I always run in 'automatic' and switch between KB/M and controller all the time and haven't had a problem since update, other than some addons being out of date but most have been updated quickly. I always use KB/M when using menus, just seems a whole lot easier to me, so when I'm using the Outfit station it's with KB/M.

Seeing the same thing on PS5 with Ember. She is placed to the left, behind the armor and color menus, and is not visible - well, KIND OF visible as the menus have a slight transparency to them. Isobel’s outfits and costumes can be seen easily, just like all my existing characters’ wardrobe choices can be, but Ember is too offset to make changes to hers.

    EDIT: typo/clarification

Any chance this issue will be addressed in the near future? While it doesn’t seem to be universal for all platforms, there do seem to be many of us on console experiencing it. I’d really like to update Ember’s look without relying on costumes. :#

She hides behind the Gamepad UI version of the outfit station on PC, too (it's the same UI as on console). I was surprised to not have seen a thread about this until after console launch tbh. :)

Yeah, that seems crazy. When character customization is such a huge factor for so many of us, seems like this would have been brought up within days of PC release. I’m really quite surprised.

This was an Issue with PC, but instead of fixing it for the PS4/5/Xbox before release, they just sent it out buggy.

I see this every expansion. I guess they just have 1 team for PC, Mac, PS, Xbos, etc. that does all the coding? and they don't fix it for PS/X folks before release weeks later. Just seems odd they knowing there are issues but they don't resolve it before release.

Agreed. It seems even more pronounced that they would leave this known issue when it directly relates to one of the selling points of the chapter. I guess ToT was the priority and secondary features of companions was back burnered.

Throwing my name in this pool too for companion outfit weirdness.

Found this thread on a search bcuz I just tried to apply different motifs to Isobel's outfit slot and parts of her default chest piece, hip flaps and legs are showing through the motif I apply. I've tried several diff motifs and all do the same thing.

It applies the new style but doesn't 'hide' the stock\standard one. :s
