I think it could be really helpful, both for people who have too much of them and don't know what to do with them AND casual player who don't want to spend X times to "farm" transmute (it's not that hard, but still). I mean, We should have an option on the transmute station to do "sellable crystals" with x Amount of crystal in it (or even making actual crystal sellable), because at this point it's just a waste in my opinion.

I see your point, but I would not like that to happen.
To me, they still feel worthwhile, and when I reached a thousand of them,
I felt obliged to finally craft some new set.

I think that not everything should be purchasable.

Denying the right to sell transmutes actively hurts the economy.

Transmutes are an expression of in game time. They can be achieved doing very simple things that anyone can do and are typically not very valuable to a new player. Very few vet players would spend 1-2 hours a day running random normals on different toons.

In order to make the most use of them, you need to have collected enough of a set to offset their reconstruction cost and you need to have researched all the traits you'd actually value.

Stones are extremely valuable to those that need/want them (vets) and aren't very valuable to those that don't (newbies). Thus, stone sales could be an extremely effective tool at wealth transfer and helping to solve an economy where 1 wax costs nearly 30k gold.

There are some people with an enormous amount of wealth in this game. There needs to be ways let that wealth flow towards the newcomers to help them catch up.

If nothing else, I'd like to gift them to people who need them. You can't even trade them among players.

    Play how you want, right?
So they raised the floor and lowered the ceiling. Except the ceiling has spikes in it now and the floor is also lava.

There should be some timegating to things and transmutating crystals is a good timegate imo.

I really really really want to be able to buy these from other players. Crystals are more valuable than gold to me.

But that said, it probably shouldn't happen for that reason, as it would discourage me from participating in the activities that generate stones. ZOS wants that activity, and really needs it.

I understand your point, but it doesn't feel right. We already have Keys and Endeavors as "timagating" currencies, and that's fine but transmute too ?

Good point too. But I think ZoS may want to improve QoL, if their goal was to keep people playing activities Transmute and set collections wouldn't even exist.

Theory crafting is expensive and time consuming i I would definitely love this.

Explain to me what his point was other than "in traditional MMOs we accept pointless time sink, therefore its a good thing".

If you got too many, then you not using them, and can't be too hard to get more.Just do like I do and make nirnhone weapons and decon for chance at potent nirncrux,or destroy the containers taking space.Trading them would reduce the amount of ppl doing the dungeons, pvp, etc to get em,if they can easily buy em.On the flipside, some will make loads of gold and we already got too much gold ingame. For theorycrafting, use uesp build site,or try pts.

I don't like this idea. I just don't like it. Things need to be special, be exclusive. Down with the homogenizing - this game is casual enough. This is an MMO. This isn't Skyrim. You must grind, you must work. Don't make the most powerful material in the game tradeable.

Yes, please! And if it would help stop, or at least reduce, the number of people speedrunning random dungeons for the daily crystal reward, that would be an additional plus.

I agree, I'd give them away if I could. Anyone who even casually does PvP or Undaunted, will end up with a thousand or more crystals every month. I know, I'm at the max crystal banking limit, marking the rest of them as junk and deleting 1000's every month.

To each their own, but I don't think transmute is actually a "grind" or a "work", it's just time consuming and that's why it should be tradable.

Agree but a hint: make a level 1 weapon, transmute to nirnhomed and deconstruct, good chance for an Potent Nirncrux stone who sell for 30 K or can be used for learning traits.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

The crystals are way to lessen the grind of getting the perfect piece in the perfect trait. They are not meant to replace needing to participate in the activity. The limit is in place because they do not want players to be able to hoard the transmute stones. When a new build becomes the go to build the system as it is entices players into doing content they might have not done for a while. Players repeating content and doing a variety of content is good for the long term health of the game. Beyond good it is required.
New players don't need a way to generate large amounts of gold early in the game. With the daily rewards helping new players they can easily get by on the gold they generate through playing the game. The system is fine as is and along with the sticker book getting exactly what you want/need is no where near the hassle it once was. The game needs certain mechanics in place to keep players who have been here a while returning to older content. The transmute crystals is one way they do that.
and then the parrot said, "must be the water mines green too."

I think that would be an example of over-engineering. They could just get rid of transmute crystals and charge us gold instead.
