Nameplate Feature Request

I like character names. Part of the joy I get from the game is appreciating how other players fleshed out their concepts. That includes their characters’ race, appearance, fashion, name, etc.

My problem is that it seems my preferring character names over player names is impractical. I’m often in dungeons where other members of the group say “player123 and player456 should stand on the west side”, or in a battleground where they’ll say “player789 should defend the relic”. When this happens, I have no idea who they are referring to.

My ask here is to please allow us to view both names (character and player) as separate lines in the nameplates that hover over characters’ heads. This is something that seems relatively simple to implement, but would be a huge benefit to players like me.

Thanks!

I could only see it looking more crowded with all hovertext,I don't even use it,since I can mouse on ppl and see both names anyway.Just turn it on @names for group content, and back to char names for solo.I tihnk there's addons to show group members, dunno if they show both names or not.

If your eyes are good enough, it's a viable option. Mine aren't that good.

I would love to have this. It doesn't seem like it would be too difficult to implement.
