Looking forward to High Isle!

When I first read the massive PTS patch notes I was instantly excited about many of the combat changes. The 2-hits on stamsorc crystal weapons, the faster vampire stacks with less health cost, and many others. Initially on logging in I was a bit put off by the world design, as evidenced by some screenshot posts I made comparing it to past zones. Mainly it was the poorly blended seaweed textures and lack of detail of the castle interiors, but things just felt a little empty and incomplete. Now I am thinking, maybe that was the case...

I went over to Amenos, the 2nd major island and wow, what a difference. This is definitely the sort of quality zone design I am accustomed to in ESO!

Really gorgeous zone! I am thinking maybe they are still working on the other island is all. It is the PTS after all, and there is still a month+ left before launch day.

Anyway I was feeling a little trepidatious but my faith has definitely been restored.

Yeah, I'm hoping they're still working on the main island... I don't want a bare zone. However, I have already been super excited about the new Companions and after watching a tutorial video on the card game, excited to give that a try too. Oh, and let's not forget MUNDUS in the armories!! <3

That just goes to show everyone has their own taste and interest. I personally have no interest whatsoever in the card game, even after watching the popular youtube guides people have been talking about. To me it was painful to even watch. If I wanted to play a card game I would go buy a card game, or play one of the many online or cell phone card games.

To me an MMO and specifically an Elder Scrolls game should stick to being an MMO and an Elder Scrolls game. I don't really understand the appeal of paying a monthly sub for an online game only to sit around and do non-MMO related activities. I mean it is fine for people that like it, but to me it would sort of be like paying to sit at a Denny's just so you could not eat anything and instead share your exciting stamp collection with your friends.

Aaaaanyway, I'm sure the game will still have something for everyone. I hope they stick to creating actual MMO content in the future though. World building and quests and combat encounters and dungeons. WoW has been going for 20 years and ESO is 8. It seems the game could really just be hitting it's stride. I really hope it doesn't become a new showcase of cell phone minigames each chapter instead.
