2-ZOS: Companions needs this changes (upgrade)!

I start with 1 little story. Once i get party on bad geared ALT as a tank to some vDLC dunguan (White Gold Tower). And party was so bad, that we can not pass last boss. After some trys 1 of DD leave the group and i summon my good geared Bastian. And we pass, companion do more helpfull work and it was enough to pass.

So even now companion is more helpfull, than some players and it can easely replace them even now.

I do not talk, that players have to be replaced by companions. But i show, that companion can be really helpfull tool. Not only in overland content, but in dunguans and may be even in trials too.

How to make them work good and be not OP, but some thing, that really can help players in their play.

Lets talk about what it already can do, its problems and how to upgrade it.

Now companion can do DPS with simple rotation like:
LA+Skill and have about 10k dps.
Can heal about 3-4 k HPS per target
Can try to tank a single target.

But now to make companion do DPS you just put 5 hard hitting ability. And it use it on calldown.

If add 1 spammable in each weapon line and companions skills, that has no CD - it can make companion really usefull !

As exemple it will use :
Skill1+la,Skill2+la,Skill3+la,Skill4+la

And then will spam Skill5+la with spammable, whyle skill 1-2-3-4 are on CallDown.

It can make companions really usefull !

For shield and sword line (companion can not agr a lot of targets) so if it will block all attacks from this one target it will not be a real problem.

But it can make it more fun and usefull tool.

The next good change would be - replace companions gear with players gear !

It is not fun to have tons of companion gear + players gear at all.

But it can be too OP with it, so some changes in its work must be added:

Only weapons stats are calculated as attack power of companion, and DEF stats as companions def. All other stats must be ignored.

But what is good in all that ? No need to have tons of gear.

Even more funny thing will be, if companion can activate proc sets.

With their stats it will not be to OP, but it can be really fun and usefull in party content.

It will not have a lot of options and can not replace advanced player this way. And can be really goodsupport for new player, that let him solo bosses and etc, because it can tank 1 target better with such changes, heal and do some DPS.

Player tanks can agr more targets and absorb more damage.
Healers can heal more, good dd can do more than 15 k dps - so they will be always better.

But even this support will be helpfull from companion and enough fun, that may be let them be 1 or 2 in even trial groups, if party can not find people.

As example to tank boss on some normal or simple trial, whyle offtank do all other work, or help with healing.

And buffing its stats in group content may be make it enough DD to make some help to trial groups.

Current companion version is too limited, it can be more helpfull and fun.

And if let to companions change appearence even more with hair styles, skins and etc. and let to turn it dialogs off they can become really companions for a lot of players, not only item in the crown bag collection.

    It can be nice idea too. But i like some companions more and want to focus on them ;)

    But to have party from favorite companions can be really cool in future too. For players who like to play solo as example or have not got a lot of friends with free time in game.

    Yeah, I made Bastian built like a tank, and he's pretty good at taking attention AND staying alive.
    The first thing I'd like for companions, which isn't asking for much if I'm being honest is to allow us to change their hairstyles AND TO SHOW HELMETS! I want my companion's delicate little head to be protected.
    ALSO: Replace "dead" with "knocked out" if spelling "unconscious" is too hard. I get that we, the vestiges cannot die because of our souls or whatever, but the fact that our companions actually die and then they just walk it off seems rather redundant, it makes the concept of death already more useless (considering ghosts are over used for story-plot development).
    And third, switch companion interaction with the context button (press and hold start).

    But if we ever get advanced customization, allowing us to equip them with player gear would be awesome as heck.

    I’m assuming companions have the delays in their skill casts both to limit their power, and likely to reduce calculations on the server. If you have ever pulled a very large group of enemies in an area, you may find that a number of them stall completely and simply stand in place until you damage them, even though they are in combat with the player. I have noticed this quite often in group dungeons. I have also seen companions freeze during fights in trials. The game seems to struggle with handling large groups of active combatants. I would expect that this apparent limitation keeps companions from being very sophisticated, and could be a reason for never having multiple companions summoned at once by one character. I would love to be proven wrong, though, and be able to form a full companion party to solve a group dungeon.

    I was disappointed by the inability to use player gear on companions, but besides the obvious power issue, I wonder if the additional calculation load of all the possible proc set combinations was going to be an issue as well. It’s hard sometimes to see how the companions and enemies in this game can be so limited, especially compared to something like Mount & Blade II, where I can have up to a thousand computer controlled combatants fighting all at once in a much more sophisticated way, but you have to also consider that the servers for this game need to process for thousands of players and NPCs doing a multitude of different things all at the same time.

    May be some procs that only works 1 time per 8 or more seconds than. But it can be really cool.

    Conpanions is interesting idea and with CP2-0 where a lot of players lose build craft and ability to calculate unique builds, may be make some fun with gearing compenion can be interesting too )

    About skill caldowns - i ask only add 1 spammable with no calldown, do not change all other companions skils in this topic. As example Snipe, Lava Whip and etc.
