Style pages (Toon or Account wide) PC N/A

Hello, good day, refresh my memory. I thought if once one toon learns a style page, then not only does that toon, but all account wide toon also learn the same set page?

Am I incorrect or did things change again?

I just spent a lot of gold on a refabricate shield style page, learned it open on my second main toon I'm using as a master crafter, switchout to my main toon and had to buy the page again as I was running a master writ on it, and it was a requirement. I even created the shield, banked it, relog on my main with the writ quest to improve it, and it wouldn't let me, thus had to buy another style page just for that toon.

Style pages are account wise.
Motifs are per character.

To elaborate.

Style pages are the gold ones, they are not craftable, only usable at the outfit station and account wide.

Motifs do two things when learned, one is the style part which is account wide and usable at the outfit station like style pages, the other is the crafting part which is per character and only the character that learned the motif can craft it.

Also only motifs count for master writ chance.

Motif knowledge lets that character create gear in that style (for things like master writs).

Learning a motif on 1 character unlocks the style for your account, so you can use the outfit station and use that style on any of your character.

Style pages are for styles that are not craftable, so you only need them once per account as they can then be used at the outfit station on all your characters.

Motifs are per character still,and used for crafting gear.So all characters need to learn them to craft gear in that motif type.

Styles are per account and can only be used for outfits with the outfit station.Once any character learns a style page or motif,the style is added to your account collections.

Oh My head hurts, ok so let me recap so I'm on the same page here.

If I buy this:



And open it, the part that is associated to the style (in this case from the picture, Shields) will open up on all toons as an account wide feature, that lets other toons select it at oh say an Outfit station.

The second part of that is, although the particular style to the said part is accessible to account wide toons, it is "ONLY" the selected toon that originally read the style page (or in this case "The Crafting Motif") that will have the ability to actually craft the part at crafting stations to select that particular style?

Did I get that correct?

Yes, that's correct.

yeah, in other words:

• on the outfit table, you can use the knowledge of all characters
• on the crafting table each character can only use their own knowledge

And this would have been an ideal thing to have motifs account wide. Also furnishing plans need to be account wide.
So annoying that ZoS took away the ability for us to see which characters had earned which achievements, but something actually useful like consolidating furnishing plan knowledge and motif knowledge was not acount wide.

Judging by your posts, part of your confusion seems to come from referring to both types of pages as 'styles'.

1 of them is a style page - usually gold tier loot - only cosmetic and account-wide

The other is a crafting motif page - usually purple tier loot - allows a character to craft in that motif style and counts towards Master writs drop rate for that character - also secondarily unlock the associated style in the outfitting system for the entire account
