Suggestion: deconstructing furnishings or companion equipment

This will help lower the amount of things people own and also provide materials for us to use in crafting or making furnishings.

At the same time, it does not have to give you inspiration, or maybe it does, but I see it more as a way to have access to more materials besides harvesting them, rather than just junking it or selling it. This will free up a lot of the guild stores too.

So the items will then have more value in the player-driven economy but also their enormous supply will go down.

Example: ivory tusks that drop in Eastmarch. I get so many of these and I just sell them (to a game merchant). It would be nice if I could deconstruct them for some mats.

i would agree that it should allow deconstruction of furnishings to get materials back, since we have the ability to craft

however we have no craft for companion gear so i think that is why they havent allowed deconstruction (but i do not like how they do not allow companion gear to be marked as junk)

i have my main house (grand topal hideaway) listed in the housing tours, it has multiple target dummies, scribing altar, and grandmaster stations (in progress being filled out), as well as almost every antiquity furnishing on display to preview them

feel free to stop by and use the facilities

there's so much companion gear and I feel like if people aren't going to use it or buy it, then companions should either be able to store their own gear (only companion gear) or we deconstruct it for maybe a random mat or something.

even if companions stored their own gear there would still be a limit to how much they could hold so that wouldnt really do anything to combat the quantity of companion gear that is "not wanted" and it would further increase the prices of "desirable" gear so people could make alt companion gear setups

we couldnt decon jewelry for the first 3 years of the game but then they added jewelry crafting, its possible they might add in some kind of rudimentary companion gear craft system at some point once we have more expanded companion system
