Magenpie✭✭✭✭✭I really really wish they'd produce a game events calendar. I know this means they can't easily just plonk events on us - like this I guess - but it would be a polite acknowledgement that some of us like/need to organise our gaming time.19

I mean, normally I'd absolutely agree, but I don't think that was a scheduled event. Just a kind of compensation for all the problems in the last days after the new patch.
So, I rather take that without an anouncement, than nothing at all.

Explorer's event is usually a spur of a moment thing or very limited in lead up. They will usually announce the start of the major holiday events well enough in advance, usually at least a week. I expect we see a Jester's fest announcement next week.2 -

So I assumed they were going to do it this week and then anniversary event on the 31st. But it looks like we are getting three back to back events. Which Im not complaining about lol So I guess Anniversary event on the 7th then?0 -

The event comes across as more of a distraction / compensation without admitting anything about the issues spawned from the latest update. I would assume that the announcement was a copy/paste from the previous one and wasn't vetted to remove that particular line which reflects one of the major concerns of the AWA changes to many players. Hasty or tone deaf?
Considering the recent complaints about log in issues, lags, zone loading times and more, it seems odd to host an event that is usually expected to increase player populations.
But whatever, we all love double loots and xp , makes everything right?

It's no different than the 3 (4?) other times this event has been run. Double nodes, double XP, double gold drops. It's a fairly simple event. Great for XP and resource farming.6 -

Jester's has been 1 week the last 2 years. Small thing but it seems to me that having Jester's to coincide with RL April Fool's day makes some kind of sense.1 -

So it seems logic to add an attraction to interrupt this trend, especially after the bad reception of the latest DLC.8 -

Ah! My bad! I missed the last two jesters festival events so was just thinking it was two weeks based on other events! Weird only one week for a once a year event with achievements attached to it too? 0 -

✭✭✭✭To put it simply the Explorer's Event is always random and spur of the moment. They are never scheduled. But they also have a tendency to pop up after they feel that they have lost some community goodwill.14
