I felt the same way. To me it seems to be a cross between the Pirates of the Caribbean and the Elder Scrolls theme songs.

Totally agree. I get goosebumps everytime I hear this wonderful theme. It's a mark in my heart for the good times back in launch
In regards to the new theme I must say that it hits right in the feels with the new awesome High Isle character screen. So much Breton awesomeness

Jeremy Soule is unmatched in melody, atmosphere and emotion. I hope they bring him back for ES6. Elder Scrolls games aren’t the same without him.4 -

✭✭I like it. It's a welcome relief to the overwhelming brasses of the previous years' DLCs like Blackwood, or Summerset to a lesser extent. I like the pizzicato part too. I have nothing against plucked strings, whether it's a violin, guitar/lute or harp.
There's a part that does sound like the Pirates theme; it made me laugh when I first heard it, but I'm not sure it feels entirely appropriate to an Elder Scrolls game. It's very jaunty and swashbuckling.0
